MUSIC: Tweaker's Music Dump

Recommended Posts

Hey dudes. For those of you know who me, I'm a music kind of guy. For those of you who don't know me... well, I'm a music kind of guy. =P

The kind of music I generally makes involves covers and remixes--video games or otherwise--that focus on "upgrading" the sound of a composition, to put it lightly. Most of the time I'll take the MIDI of a song I like, tweak it a bit, then work on mastering and processing the result sound, making use of various synthesizers, samples, and post-production effects. In short, I make things sound awesome.

But enough of the blabber, yes? I haven't made a topic like this here in a while now, so here are the songs I have uploaded so far--mainly stuff I've done within the past couple of months since getting my new PC. I'd have more if Fileden weren't made up of a bunch of cunts who like shutting down my account for no good reason. From oldest to newest:

Hot Crater Act 2

Windy Valley ~ The Air

Green Forest

Techno Harbor

Theme of Gorbichev

Be Cool, Be Wild, And Be Groovy!... for Ice Cap (Warning: Bad source MIDI; sounds kind of shit)

F-6t BIG FOOT (SA2 Boss #1)

Rumbling HWY... for Mission Street

Cyber Track Act 1

The Egg Terror

Fidragolds

Punk h8s me

Egg Rocket Zone

Egg Shuttle Zone

Airship

Theme of Chaz ~ Good Future

Route 210

In addition (and for all future works I post online, for the sake of simplicity), you can find earlier works I've done in my FurAffinity gallery. In addition, submissions on my gallery are likely to have more information on the song, including the song author or MIDI sequencer (if applicable).

I'll update this topic as I make new things. Hopefully you guys enjoy them! Would be lovely to hear your thoughts. :)

WOW, these are great! You don't see too many people doing this with post-Adventure songs. My favorites are definitely the Advance series remixes like Hot Crater and Egg Rocket. Any plans on doing any of the Chaos Angel acts? And I LOVE your version of "The Air".

What program did you use?

I use FL Studio with a multitude of different VSTs, soundfonts, and effects (compression, reverb, EQ, et al). It sounds like a simple process, and it kind of is, but it took me a while to come up with a consistent formula to make things sound good. I've been doing this since I was 15, so I've been around the block. ;)

The trick to using FL Studio is that you can't use the default patches that come with it. They're quite bad and very distinct; it's much better if you scour the internet for a varied selection of VSTs that cover a wider range of sound.

Yeah, I tried doing stuff like this a couple of years ago, but I didn't know what the hell I was doing, so my songs sounded horrible!

Anyway, can't wait to hear more stuff from you.

Haven't thought about reuploading them yet. If there's enough interest, I don't mind, though.

I looooooove that GUN Mobile remix. It is my favorite by far.

I also love the two Egg Rocket remixes.

Glad to hear. :)

Anyway, here's something I did after being inspired by a thread at Sonic Retro...

Plok ~ Beach Level

Not one of my best, but an awesome tune regardless.

C&C appreciated as always.

Now, for something new--I actually composed something! I had this in limited distribution a week or so ago when I made it, but since the plans fell through I decided I'd share it with you guys.

Puzzle Level Concept

Hope you guys like it! It's the first original song I've done in a very long time. :)

Dude, I'd really like to hear you do more original work in the future cause this shit is pretty amazing! Keep it up man =)

Thanks! I don't compose original tunes often, but who knows when I'll get a bout of inspiration. Glad that you liked it. :D

Anyway, I figured I'd work on finishing my covers of the soundtrack to The Queen of Heart 98. Note that all of the original songs were in MIDI format, so for the sake of contrast these never had any "high quality" versions to compare to. I'm hoping to cover that. :3

Theme of Aoi

Theme of Yuki

Fun fact--the second tune, Theme of Yuki, is also a tune featured in one of the upcoming versions of Megamix. I won't tell you where, but it's sure to be a treat! ;)

Would love to hear your thoughts! :D

Right, so I think I've finally finished off the tracks to this game. Here's the remaining three tracks:

Theme of Kotone

Theme of Akari

Theme of Serika

Lot more diverse in style than the last this time around. I particularly like how Serika turned out, though I'm also fond of Akari. I guess you can consider this the unofficial "arrange" soundtrack for the game. ;P

Any ideas for a direction I should go in next?

Right! So Verse whipped up this awesome Casino Night 2-Player mix and I absolutely had to get in on it. This is the fruit of that labor:

Casio Night Zone 2P ~ Groovy Mix

I absolutely love how this turned out! Hope you guys feel the same. :)

Awesome variation! Nice to hear someone take a tune and just mix it straight up. Can still make out the CN2P in it though. Straight to the remix collection!

Haha, just track was labeled with your real name! It sounded familiar, so I searched my collection to find another couple of tracks with that as its artist. Renamed them all to tweaker ;)

As I posted in the Sonic 4 topic, I made a cool rearrangement of the Sonic 4 theme in the style of Sonic CD. Check it out here.

This is what the music in the game should sound like.

I hope SEGA accepts the remix you did for Sonic 4.

By any chance will this be in Megamix 2?

I dig the Sonic 4 jingle remix, but honestly.. I never had any problem with the original and thought it sounded fine.

Casino Night 2P remix was pretty sweet too. Keep doin' your thing.

So I was looking at the VGMusic incoming files directory earlier today and noticed that Jace had sequenced a very familiar tune from Columns 3. I shat bricks and immediately got to work. This is the result.

Column Dive

Avid players of Sonic Megamix will definitely recognize this. Yes, it is that tune. :3

C&C appreciated as always!

Also, I've opened up music commissions for anyone interested. More details here.

Big thanks to you guys buying commissions! I've churned out about 3 of them so far and I've got about 2 more on the way. Most requested theirs to be private, but I finally have one I can post!

Blukari

This is a commission requested by Arctides of Utada Hikaru's Blue, remixed in a more upbeat style akin to the PLANITb remix of Utada's Hikari (aka Simple and Clean). Just an instrumental since I couldn't extract the vocals. I think it turned out pretty cool!

Thanks! Glad that you think so. :)

So I just got the thumbs up to post a couple of commissions I did for Chimpo for some game he's working on. I don't know the details, but I bet they're super seekrit or something to that effect. I did the first one a week or so ago, and I finished the second one yesterday.

PSRR Intro Theme

PSRR Level Theme 05

Names provided by him, so again--I have no idea what these are actually for. Hopefully you get a good feel for the kind of original stuff I can do, though. :)
