Nintendo 3DS

I can only hope that Flipnote 3D is coming very soon and allows you to send stuff.

Spotpass has been disabled on that in Japan, too.

As long as Miiverse comes to 3ds soon I can deal with this, but it's still fucking stupid.

If anything, this is a perfect excuse for Nintendo to delay both MiiVerse and Flipnote 3D to "TBA" status. :U

They're integrating Miiverse? As in, no shitty friend codes anymore? Actual notifications when someone adds you? Online infrastructure of 2006 standards?

What's taking so long?

I suppose you could think of it that way, but I figured that they were taking it away also knowing that Miiverse would be coming to 3ds soon, so there'd be a way to communicate with your 3ds friends list.

I love how fucking lazy parents are these days. We have Parental Controls but no one uses them anymore so then they send complaints to Nintendo and ruin everything.

That's how a bunch of parents are these days. They ignore the parental features, then complain about them not being turned on at all. Parents buy their kids mature rated games, and then complain about their kids playing a mature game. The parent doesn't use the parental controls on the tv and then complain to TV networks all the time about the programing they have on them. It isn't these companies fault that you don't know how to be responsible or know how to work a parental control switch, so stop blaming them you idiots.

Not really. Miiverse is moderated and has been in use for a year on the Wii U without this sort of drama (As far as I can think of).

Would you bother navigating the shitty 3DS OS to make sure your kids don't draw dicks to each other?

Besides, this has nothing to do with parental controls and everything to do with a gargantuan stick Nintendo has piked up their ass regarding shit like this.

Yes, my daughter isn't even old enough to play and I've already put them on my Wii and am considering my 3DS, considering the little rascal Angel keeps getting a hold of it

You're a gamer. You know how to navigate this shit.

If I handed my sister a 3DS and told her to set parental controls for her son, 10 bucks says it'd take her an hour to find the settings menu.

God damn it I really loved Swapnote too. I didn't use it enough but I loved seeing notes from my friends as well as the special notes. I'll always love you Nikki.

It's a wrench.

If your sister can't use basic logic to figure out that settings - wrench, then come on.

You overestimate non-gamer parents.

This is the same person who thought I was playing as Knuckles when I went Super Sonic in Sonic 2.

It's not gamer logic though.  It's just common sense.  All electronics ever have wrenches as the "settings" dealeo.  Even if you couldn't figure that out, it's not like there are a lot of other things that could be misconstrued for the settings, besides maybe the yellow Warning App thing.

And it does also tell you the name of the app when you highlight it anyway, it's bit complex, it is genuinely about parents not being as responsible as they used to be. A friend told me about a kid who came in with his mum to buy GTA V, despite the age rating on the case, when he proceeded to tell the mother what was in the game (part of his job) she looked horrified and refused to buy it. My parents used to be really strict and would always research a new game (unless it was something like Sonic or mario ect).

It is either laziness or a general ignorance of games, which is silly because a lot of the current generation grew up with games

I hear those stories all the time. It is either the parent being shocked about what the game is, because the kid either didn't tell the parent what it was about, the kid lied to them about what the game was or what was in it, or the parent just flat out didn't do research. Then you have the other parents that couldn't give two hoots and just buy the game regardless to shut the kids up and keep them away from them. A lot of it I do consider laziness, because when your kids are younger, yes, you should know what they are playing, but you dont have to look over their shoulders either as long as you are aware of what the games are and the ratings.

My parents never cared because I knew the difference between real and make believe. I was beginning to play M rated and such at 13, but I knew better when a lot of these other kids out here don't. As mentioned before, it is often just laziness or irresponsibility on the parents that is the cause of a lot of this. No media outlet or anything can put the blame on them though, because that then for media gets parents mad at them, threatening them, or just not listening or watching them anymore, or with political figures, they can't say it either, because parents will then not vote for them. A lot of us know the problem lies with the parents, but no big outlet can say it though because of fear of angering these parents.

Only just seen the news about Spotpass being disabled for Letterbox. That sucks! I'll admit I didn't use it much, but it's still annoying to see Nintendo keep being so damn backwards with online and keep doing the parenting for the parents, even if it affects the adult customers.
