Damn you can actually see the effects in this video. If it looks like that in a video i wonder what it actually looks like when your holding it.

Holy shit! They've been confirmed as real titles!?

I seriously hope they're downloads, because they are not retailing those at full price like the NES Classics on GBA, no fucking way.

But this is still brilliant news! I wonder if other systems will have games for 3DS?

Oh yeah, and I want a Mario Bros 3 or Mario World remake with playable Peach.

Wait wait wait...you're telling me I could soon be playing Super Metroid...IN 3D with NEW features?

WIN.

I think I'd rather a 2.5D and 3D remake of Super Metroid with a bunch of new features but take out the 2.5D and it's still awesome.

Handheld of the year all years? I'm willing to say yes so far.

http://www.industrygamers.com/news/nintendo-says-3ds-design-not-100-final-guarantees-worldwide-launch-by-march/

"You know typically, at an E3, our engineers are looking for feedback. You know, we have an army of Nintendo representatives out on our show floor talking to attendees, getting reactions to everything in the device: the depth slider, the buttons, the sliding pad that is, essentially, an analog-type stick. These are things that we’re looking to get reaction to, including the overall button placement. When we get all that feedback, then we’ll finalize the design"

"The reason we haven't announced a launch date or pricing is that, first, we wanted to get reaction here. Secondly, we'll be making individual market decisions in terms of what's happening in Japan, what's happening in the Americas, what's happening in Europe. The one thing, for sure, is that we will launch in all of our major markets by March 31, 2011."

Saw this earlier. In another interview, Reggie seemed optimistic with a release by Holiday (a Nintendo DS scenario). I hope that actually happens for everyone this time, though. I didn't get why there was a delay in Europe.

I'm fully expecting a "Japan and US for Christmas, Europe for March" release scenario. Which of course I would rage at.

Nintendo, this is your chance to prove you don't hate Europe and to make up for the horrific six-month wait for Brawl. Give us the 3DS by December and all shall be forgiven.

I remember a few years ago, the boss of Nintendo Germany (I think) said it takes longer to localize it for Europe because the games usually have 5 languages on them, but that make sno sense. It's not like they translate it to English, then Spanish, then German, then whatever. They translate it from japanese at the same time, so it shouldn't take so long.

But, I mean, we did get Disaster: Day of Crisis and we got Sin and Punishment 2 first. And we got Minish Cap first... Edit: Before USA of course..

I'm one of the first to understand when it comes to delay issues but translation delays aren't an excuse anymore, there are plenty of developers out there who meet a simultaneous release for most games on the market these days.

That's a load of bull, considering several North American versions of games already have 3 major languages coded in: English (American English), French, and Spanish. In most DS games there are actually all 5 languages in North American releases, so I really don't get what the delays are for. Though I did notice that Nintendo of Europe tends to be stupid and makes their own translations, which is how people end up seeing Staven instead of Byrne in Spirit Tracks or Chiko (French Canadian) in comparison to Luma (European French) in the Mario Galaxy series.

Nintendo are one of the only companies that still get away with ridiculous waits for European audiences. Almost every other company has simultaneous releases.

Heck, even Square-Enix now release games at the same time in Europe and US, and Europeans had to wait almost a year for FFXII just half a decade ago.

CVG's retail source says release by December -

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=252870

Nintendo has pushed back its planned 3DS UK release date until early December, CVG has been told by a high-ranking UK retail source.

According to our informant, marketing for the device will still kick in towards the end of October, but the handheld won't arrive in stores until just before Christmas - and with limited stock.

"Early indications to us are that the launch is going to emulate Wii in December," our source told us. "We've been informed that Nintendo wanted a long run-up to Christmas, but now it's going to be a close-run thing. We're not expecting a lot of stock before next year."

That would be lovely. And you'd better believe I'm pre-ordering that shit as soon as the date is revealed.

Why a limited stock? oO Wouldn't it be better to make enough consoles? Still, early December is awesome ^^ I'll probably preorder it and ask my mom to get it for me for Christmas with either Kid Icarus or Zelda..

This, a million times over.

If the 3DS is out in the UK for Christmas then there is no way in hell I am not getting it. I'll go to a midnight launch, I'll pre-order it months in advance with a deposit, ANYTHING to ensure I get my hands on it.

Gosh, it's going to be like the Wii in 2006 all over again.

I get the feeling the constant mention of "before March" as the release date is nothing more than protection in case they can't get it out by the holidays, though I'd think that's when they want to.

@Shadzter: £56 for some of those games? Wow, I don't see Nintendo pricing them THAT high.

Heck, they weren't even good games. Where's mah Kid Icarus Uprising? :P

The retailers getting geared up for the 3DS release is good though. Hopefully means something will be on the way soon enough.

Atleast we get Blue and Red. :/ I mean ffs we've been stuck with White/Black/Silver consoles at launch for fucking forever.

I'm just happy that we actually have something other than Black or White for a change.

Besides we don't know if these colours are actually confirmed for retail until Nintendo say so. They are using images of the prototype console afterall.
