I beat you to it at the bottom of my post above yours XD

I didn't know GamesRadar own NGamer too.

GamesRadar and all affiliated publications are owned by Future corp.

Why is it that every damn movement Sonic is accompanied by massive dust clouds being kicked up? Fair enough for his top speed but the shots and vids make it seem like even a stroll results in a dust storm whipping up in his wake.

I knew Future is the overall boss, I just assumed GamesRadar were like the deputy head if you know what I mean since all the affiliated mags like GamesMaster for example and no doubt NGamer all have the GamesRadar logo on their covers.

I too don't understand the dust cloud thing in this game, seems too easy to make them and they just look unnecessary and distracting.

GamesRadar is the website where all of Future's videogame mags congregate on the web. It's not a boss as such, it's just the online arm of the corporation's VG mags - as is computerandvideogames.com, to a degree. :) Make no mistake though, Future is evil - their forum servers were consistently bad, making for terrible forum performance, the forum admins were nasty with no people skills whatsoever, and they melded the US and UK forums; threatening to destroy the UK forums' unique community that had grown up over the preceding 8 years. Wankers. Only because the forumites got together to buy the kit for a new forum, build a great new site and effect a mass migration has the community survived (albeit with the loss of a few great members). Dust clouds may be specific to the dirt-clad stages.

I doubt Sonic would be leaving dust trails in Casino Street or Mad Matrix. We will see though.

All these new screenshots, the levels just look like the usual Dimps random assortment of platforms, this level design is rather crappy.

Dirt that has grass growing in it typically isn't loose enough to drag up like that.

I think they were trying to mix the classic wheel-o-feet with the Super-peel out from CD which is good to me. Looks a bit weird up close but isn't really noticeable in gameplay.

Noticed how 4 is the only one where the red trail blur doesn't match his feet.

The Sonic 4 model in that picture is a CG artwork from the Sonic 4 website. It's not from ingame.

Here is the ingame one:

The feet still look separated from the blur there if you look carefully... but, fuck it, who's gonna be looking that closely when playing it? :D

When ingame, i think the animation will move fast enough to make it look good.

3 episodes with 4 zones (12 acts each) confirmed. That at least 32 acts with the possibility of secret extra stages. That's one meaty 2D Sonic adventure!

Indeed. And at $5 bucks an episode, this is a insta-purchase.

Well, the price hasn't been confirmed. But I'm expecting it to happen like most of the rumors regarding this game.

Not accurate when the screens could be taken from any part of the stage.

I'm pretty sure feet moving at nearly 1000 RPS can kick up some dirt. Not like it matters since, ya know, it's a rarely noticeable aesthetic for the sake of detail right.......... RIGHT?

In one of those screenshots, I saw some blades of grass being kicked up.

Which is exactly the problem, we have a random sampling that we would expect would show off the better parts of the level, the screen shots would be showing off more interesting things if there were any.

Putting in a little detail like that is a good thing when there's actually a reason for it to be there. Oh, and here we go again: If I give the game the slightest criticism, everyone homes in on it and ignores all the other things I say, and then imagines that that's the reason why I don't like the game.

True or not, the point is, saying the level design is crap is a pretty bold statement given a bunch of screenshots that could be from any part of the acts in any order.

Look, I don't know, nor do I care about what you or anybody else said before, if there's something that I might want to input my opinion on, I will say something, whether it was from you or anyone else.

This has nothing to do with you personally, it was about what was said, no matter who said it. If this has something to do with someone else, I think you should take that issue to them.

Not necessarily. Just look at some screenies from Sonic 1 (which were custom [not media] captured, but same difference). You've got a bridge and a waterfall. You've got some spikes and some platforms. Looks exciting, no?

Not to mention action shots involving a corkscrew, loop-de-loop, combo HA...

OK? Note to self: Cute little touches with no real meaning to them should not be added. Sonic Unleashed's DreamCast easter egg was stupid. >:(

Just kidding, I get what you mean. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the dirt trail.

Im sorry but i just dont know where to post this someone has made one of the greatest fake Sonic 4 images off all time on Sega Forums

i j-tagged my xbox360 recently and installed partnerNET. classic Sonic is actually in the game, you can unlock him in Splash Hill Zone, but you have to have atleast 5 emeralds, and you have to fight him first, i got hit while i was trying to take a picture. he is very hard to fight! I haven't beaten him yet. He doesn't look as good as a thought he would. but atleast he's in sonic41.png.
