Spoiler

Halls of Egress takes Finn and Jake to the dungeon that Flambo talked about and only mentioned in the episode Dungeon Train. Speaking of which, this episode is a good companion to it where Finn has to navigate to the exit/egress with only his eyes closed and keep them closed or else a time loop resets him back to the beginning. It is a really interesting and unique way to find a way out and brings more of that D&D feel too.

The episode takes on a dark tone and a dark metaphor with Finn stuck in a blind state until he finds the real exit through different ways. Also, shows how much Finn has to grow and during at the time to rely on himself for the way out and no one else, serving as the lesson. Not to mention Finn’s gradual disheveled look as the days go by and as he traveled in the wilderness. Also, I really like the other maze at the end with the underground sky and PB’s minimal yet memorable role for the quick exposition and Jake’s funny attempts to open Finn’s eyes.

Though just to add with new episodes being on Saturdays, it’s going to be kinda hectic to get my thoughts out with new eps of FiM on the way later this month on Sat-mornings too. So it’ll be FiM first, AT later.

Fave Quotes:

Finn: “You don’t put traps in the foyer! The foyer is a safe space.”

Finn: "I'm Finn Mertens, ya heard, and I don't need no nothin'!"

Jake: “What do you think? Wanna try opening ‘em? It’s a beautiful day. Plus I need someone to tell me if this hat looks cool.”

PB: “At the seashell’s center lies the cornucopia’s smallest door.”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-25-flute-spell

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/attraction-comes-and-goes-finn-delightful-adventur-233683

Spoiler

Flute Spell has Jake discovering Finn hanging out with Huntress Wizard in attempt to summon a Forest Spirit with a flute song and even attempt for him to get them together.

And finally we get Huntress Wizard with her episode with before making appearances in Reign of Gunthers and other cameos. And it is an episode that really delivers. I just really like this character from the design to her abilities of firing magic arrows and turning into a log when she sleeps to her home to her voice/mannerisms. It just makes me eager to see more of her and that she becomes a recurring character. In addition she is voiced this time by Jenny Slate AKA Bob’s Burgers’ Tammy and Bellwether from the Zootopia which was released the week prior to this episode.

Also, Finn and HW as a couple seems the most plausible and workable of the relations in the series and still have some kind of hope for it despite being subverted here. Even though it is nice to see more of Finn maturing like the last episode, Finn being quite accepting of his single status is kinda sad in a way especially one who is supposedly the last human.

Also, it was nice to see Matthew Broderick again reprising/debuting as the Dream Warrior/Spirit of the Forest. Really liked the Legend of Zelda the episode gives out too.

Good continuity here with Jake’s song at the beginning mentioning TV and the Psychic Tandem War Elephant and Maja and the appearance of the little snowman people from The Visitor. Also, Science Cat but without Sword Shark who died of old age. Not to mention Finn’s grass hand that is connected to his flute playing. Also, Age of Grinders as a nod to Phantasy Star is pretty rad too.

Fave Quotes:

BMO: “I cannot talk and run this game at the same time.” Jake: “Nooooo!!!! Well I guess that means I’m free. I LIVE AGAIN!”

Jake: “I wanted to check out your new lady friend. But I guess she just dumped you like a diaper in the dirt, bro.”

Finn: “First off: I’m a great fighter. I’m especially agile when I’m nude, so good luck. Second: my flute improv ain’t no secret. I let my grass hand do whatever it wants, which is usually sort of shreddy and busy.”

Jake: “I’m like your sleepover chaperone!” Finn: “Grow up.” Jake: “You grow up, you teen!”

Finn: “Attracting forces come and go, man.”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-26

Spoiler

The Thin Yellow Line takes Finn and Jake to infiltrate the Banana Guard ranks to uncover some kind of conspiracy after one of the guards is caught creating murals/graffiti on the walls. The expressions in this episode are pretty funny such as Jake telling the muscled guards about doing crime and Finn figuring out who the graffiti culprit is.

PB was really rockin’ that business dress as well as showing how much she has grown and changed over time from being a distant ruling “Big Brother” to a humbler and on-the-level relatable mother figure to others.

Really like the 'I Am Spartacus' part at the end as well as the message about that you can still have some form of talent despite not being bright, smart, or brilliant and that there is nothing wrong with it nor is it a defect. Also, that it is okay to not have talent too.

Fave Quotes:

Finn: “That’s illegal!” Jake: “And beautiful!”

Banana Guard: “We caught the crime-inals.” Banana Guard: “Oh, I just got that!”

Perpetrator’s name: Jake

Reason for arrest: being a wiener

Banana Guard #16: “She’s amazing. And she’s flippin’ scary!” Finn: “But nice!”

Wonderful analysis of The Hall of Egress. Fits quite a bit with my from Ooo-is-Finn's-perspective theory. Much of Adventure Time before The Comet is Finn's journey from childhood to being a teenagers. When I saw the The Hall of Egress, I believe this was a confirmation of being a weird teenage-adult in-between. Acceptance has been a large part of Finn's character this season, I can't wait to see what the writers plan to do with him past this point.

Watched Broke His Crown last night. Once again AT writers satisfy us with cameos and clues with no absolution. When will the Betty saga end? Probably never. I did enjoy how the strained relationship between IK and PB was though.

I've also started noticing more non-Finn/Jake episodes.. maybe Finn's acceptance for an Ooo without himself inserted into every plot? Sign of adulthood and development from the show.

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/marceline-and-bubblegum-fix-ice-kings-meltdown-hea-234394

Spoiler

And Ice King/Simon fell down and Broke His Crown and Betty comes falling after.

Broke His Crown has Bonnie and Marcy hanging out with the Ice King, but something goes wrong when PB notices the Ice King’s crown, which had been tampered by Betty AKA Magic Woman during the events of King’s Ransom, causes him to ‘glitch out. So she and Marcy go virtual into the crown to see what’s up.

Like Varmints, it is another episode featuring the vampire and princess and lacks Finn and Jake. Also, it showcases some nice comedic chemistry between the two in their dialogue and has PB to know more about Ice King/Simon and be less hostile towards him.

Also there is really good continuity with Gunther and Evergreen to the indirect mentioning of Simon punching Ash in the events of the episode Betty. Speaking of which, it got emotionally heavy when they tried to fix Magic Woman/Betty with Simon telling the story of the library book note and with the two ‘getting together’.

Yet what will this mean for Ice King/Simon and Betty in the real world now when her tampering with the crown has been undone? And will they find Betty and be able to fix her and to gain back her senses and find a real cure for Simon? Only (Adventure) time will tell.

Fave Quotes:

Marcy: “Imagine...a pizza. Only half should be business. The rest should be personal. Personal pizza.”

Ice King: “I hope you like penguin cuisine. It’s mostly just shapes.” Marceline: “Who doesn’t love a good rhomboid?” PB: “You’re a rhomboid.”

Marceline: “Did you press the wrong button?” PB: “I never press the wrong button.” Marceline: “Yeah, you always know what button to press.”

PB: “Assistant?! I have been my own boss my entire life! I built my own lab! I’ve created frickin’ life forms!”

Lyrics of the song Gunther is singing karaoke to: “I’ve got too many boyfriends to see you tonight.”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-28-dont-look

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/finn-suffers-magical-identity-crisis-adventure-tim-234721

Spoiler

‘Don’t Look’ takes our heroes to a trip to the top of Dead Mountain and Finn receives a treasure at a price of his eyes.

I find this to be a really good episode that let us see how Finn perceives and sees others. Not to mention that the transformations others undergo because of Finn’s eyes were really interesting and entertaining from BMO turning into a real boy/angel to Varsity Jake to Ice King into Simon to Starchy into a thieving butt to Finn turning into a ‘selfish jerk wad’ which happens to look similar to his dad in shape. Finn’s eyes are pretty creepy and somewhat mesmerizing.

Also, I like how in the beginning they equip themselves with mirror shields and armor and say how monsters with cursed eyes or be cursed by looking at them need to have a new gimmick and that how the episode subverts it in a way with the eyes being the treasure. Not to mention NEPTR getting the hero treatment after he is revived to his old self and liked how Finn refers him as his son.

Fave Quotes:

Finn and Jake: “Gear up for battle! You smell like cattle!”

Finn: “What is that? A hut?” Jake: “No. It’s a yurt.”

Jake: “I’ve been waiting with a bowl of soup. It has hoops and loops and maybe some goops.”

PB: “What to wear for my speech? Boss next door or hot president?”

PB: “*Sigh, Teen Boy Heartthrob it is.”

Finn: “Did I kill NEPTR?” Jake: “You turned him into a microwave, so yeah…you kinda did.”

NEPTR: “Eye pie!”

BMO: “I just had the most wonderful dream.”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-29-beyond-the-grotto

Spoiler

Finn and Jake almost lost themselves and their focus in an attempt to find their lost Sea Lard in this ‘Alice in Wonderland’ type of guest animated world created by Lindsey and Alex Small-Butera who are well known for Baman Piderman series on Mondo.

I find this episode to be one of the better guest animated episodes, basically near Food Chain levels. I also like how it serves as the ‘Wonderland’ for Finn and Jake almost like how the pillow land was to Finn in Puhoy. I also like the return of the water nymphs too.

The characters that they meet in the alternate animated universe are familiar yet differently weird and entertaining/interesting such as PB Puddle, Marcy Plant who likes to sing about sad things, Princess Purple Patch who has the Ice King’s voice, Bee-Mo, and Bush Boots the apricot anteater who lost a rolling pin. Also, there is really good dialogue in between with the character interactions.

Fave Quotes:

Jake: “See ya larder.”

Water Nymphs: “Smash that frog.”

Water Nymph: "You know Sea Lards are mammals, right?" Finn: "Uh, yeah, I definitely knew that! (*whispers to Jake: I'm gonna murder Shelby!)"

Finn: “Please don’t change. You’re perfect just the way you are.” Flower Marcy: “Oh, I know. I just like to write sad songs.”

Finn: “A bee.” Jake: “I see.”

Ice King: “I’m like a goldfish over here.” Jake: “In what way exactly?” Ice King: “Hmm? Oh, hey, Jake. Where am I?!”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-30-lady-rainicorn-of-the-crystal-dimension

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/adventure-time-soars-rare-lady-rainicorn-spotlight-235423

Spoiler

Lady Rainicorn of the Crystal Dimension is an episode that can be considered an episode of firsts (as what I can tell). The first time we see subtitles for Lady Rainicorn lines as well as for the Korean present in general along with another rainicorn that can speak Korean fluently. It is also first time we get to see Lady Rainicorn backstory before meeting PB and Jake as well as seeing the Crystal Dimension, a society where dogs and rainicorns live together, in its entirety and see more than in Crystals Have Power episode. And needless to say, I like the look of the Crystal Dimension more so than FiM’s Crystal Empire.

Also, nice to see Lady’s parents again after a long while. It was interesting to know that Lady was quite a rebel with his ex, Lee who is like Marceline’s boyfriend Ash except much cool looking and basically a rebel without a cause. It also gives us a reason into why she hooked up with Jake the Dog because of her bigoted ex. TV was pretty funny as well as he tried to sell the box and his little song about having a friend Lee: ‘Named Lee’ and crashing at his grandparents’ house claiming to be independent. Not to mention that a powerful artifact in the shape of a crystal sandwich is pretty funny in itself.

Fave Quotes:

TV: “Gonna sell a weird box / Gonna make some mad bucks / Gonna buy some new…books”

“Groceries are a dog-driven concept. There’s enough nutrition in that macramé owl on the wall there to feed this entire city for a year.”

Bob: “No more nose ring bozo.” Ethel: “Prayer works.”

TV: “It’s a good thing I didn’t sell this box.”

TV: “Being independent is awesome. You guys have any food?”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-31-i-am-a-sword

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/amy-sedaris-gets-hold-finn-sword-hilarious-adventu-235738

Spoiler

I Am a Sword focuses on the Finn Sword that he received after reviving Prismo in S6’s Is That You? and that Finn carelessly loses it while doing tricks on a bridge and tries to retrieve it from the Bandit Princess, voiced by Amy Sedaris.

Really like the somewhat metaphor of Finn losing himself and not taking himself seriously or taking himself and others for granted as well as somewhat of killing himself as the Grass Sword came back and stabbed it.

Speaking of that, there were a lot of good callbacks in this episode from the Grass Sword’s return to the return of the Spiky Village from Gut Grinder to the Box Kingdom with the cats from The Box Prince. Also, the return of Science Cat with his new companion Spear Bear.

It was really shocking when Finn Sword gotten damaged and looked like he was killed and I’m anticipating on what will happen to the sword in the future with part of the Grass Sword is embedded in it.

Fave Quotes:

Spear Bear: “It’s fight o’clock, Finn! Fight o’clock!”

BMO: “Talking to animate objects. (To power cord.) Get a load of this guy.”

Bandit Princess: “I was born with rabies and my parents didn’t love me ‘cause they both had mono!”

Finn: “We’ll get your husband’s head, Sharon.” Sharon: “And the gold, please.”

Finn: “You guys got swords, why didn’t you do anything?” Spiky Person #1: “Oh, this isn’t a sword. It’s a massive a hangnail.” Spiky Person #2: “I got one too. It hurts.”

Finn Sword: “Give this tranch acute arthritis!”

BMO: “You mean some people are just a pure city sidewalk boom-boom from a red dunk and that’s all there is to it?”

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/chaos-leads-positive-change-when-bun-bun-debuts-ad-236355

Spoiler

Well, looks like the Saturday timeslot wasn’t working well so AT and Regular Show and is coming back to Thursday or Yoursday as CN puts it.

I really like this one as maturity is the name of the game and theme for this episode that is centered around Cinnamon Bun as he tries to reflect that when trying to take care of the newborn Bun Bun made by his leftovers. Also, a side story involving Flame Princess and Finn reconciling with one another, showing acknowledging Finn’s maturity and growth to her. And FP is a great freestyle rapper. Could this rekindle an old romantic flame between the two in the near future? Maybe.

Bun Bun is just really adorable and funny and seeing her making friends with the Flame King just makes me like her more. It also good to see Flame King again and that he is on the path of reform and King of the Chipmunks has a nice ring to it. And I’m interested to see where this goes.

Fave Quotes:

CB: “Crunchy! Still chewing that same piece of gum?” Crunchy: “Yup!”

Finn: “How’s it feel to be alive?” Bun Bun: “Uh…it feels good, I think. What’s the opposite of good?” Finn: “Bad. That’s funny that you don’t know that word, but you know the word ‘opposite.’”

Bun Bun: “Look! I’m king of the fireplace!”

BB: “I’m Bun Bun. Are you a chipmunk?” Flame Princess: “No.”

Bun Bun: “I’m 100 percent evil. What’s evil?”

Bun Bun: “And I’ll be the royal dog petter!”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-33-normal-man

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/normal-man-makes-past-sins-apologetic-adventure-ti-236719

Spoiler

Finn and Jake help the Used-To-Be-Magic-But-Now-Normal Man to rescue Glob (and the other brothers who are surprisingly alive and floating out in space) who is taken hostage by a disgruntled Tiny Manticore and want to make amends and forgiveness for past sins.

I really like the gags and humor in this one esp. the things on Wild Trap Mountain including Archer Bandits, the one quiet dude nobody messes with (I wonder what’s his story), dragon ghosts, weekend survivalists, red ants, and that one squirrel that hates Jake (Jake: Who?). Also, Tiny Manticore with his two boomerangs and flamethrower and LSP going on a date with Lemongrab who doesn’t like food on a blanket were also funny as well along with the talking barrel of flaming garbage.

Even though I’ll miss the trolling antics of Magic Man and prefer him, Normal Man is still pretty interesting as well and has some good characterization too. The comedy and character development were implemented and combined wonderfully. Also, it’ll be interesting to see how Normal Man becomes new ruler of Mars and how it’ll follow up with it. Better kind of reform than most of FiM IMO.

Fave Quotes:

Finn: “Yo! No dogs on the table. Shoo! Get down, boy! What do you see, boy? Show daddy.” Jake: “I do see something, but you’re making it weird.”

Magic Man: “Just a few more laps and I’ll break the jerk world record!”

Jonah: “Hey Luke, what’s going on today?” Luke: “Fricking nothing yet.” Jonah: “I know, I just wanna kill and eat someone already.”

Squirrel: (Attacking) “Jake! It’s me!” Jake: “Who?!”

Tiny: “Why do you sound so insincere?” Normal Man: “That’s just my voice.”

“What’s even a boomerang? (Boomerang hits Jake.) Oh my gosh, I’ve been calling them something different my whole life.”

Finn: “No planes! Never planes!”

Martian 1: “Calm down? You turned me into a giant starfish!” Martian 2: “You turned me into a barrel of flaming garbage!”

Barrel of Flaming Garbage: “I want to eat those brownies.”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-34-elemental

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/ice-elemental-returns-wreak-havoc-adventure-time-237072

Spoiler

The episode Elemental leads Finn and Jake on a hunt for a hanger thief who happens to be the Ice King and he had been using hangers to explore a crack in his palace only to discover Patience St. Pim an Ice Elemental that froze herself before the Great Mushroom War.

There is a lot of lore/backstory/world building in this episode that is rather intriguing and what I like with more events with the Great Mushroom War and going slightly in depth about the 4 Elements of Ooo/earth: Fire, Ice, Candy, and Slime. Not to mention knowing the princesses are reincarnations of previous Elementals and PB and Slime P. discovering their elemental powers. Also, nice touch of continuity with Starchy at the beginning and just a lot of humor to go around.

Patience St. Pim is also an interesting and funny addition to the character roster with her spaz and pizzazz like attitude and charisma and have knowledge of Pre-War Ooo which will be further detailed to come. It looks like she being setup as some kind of antagonist though.

Hmm...Why do I have a feeling that we might get a possible battle between Magic Woman AKA Betty and Patience (and probably Maja the Witch) in the near future?

Fave Quotes:

Starchy: "Honey, I'm home! Oops, I forgot I lived alone."

Finn: “It’s pretty quiet out there.” Jake: “Yeah, but not so much in here.” (Farts.) Finn: “Aw, Jake. No!”

Jake: “Yeah man, you have like one muumuu and you’re wearin’ it.”

Ice King: “Do you know what this extra square footage means when I decide to sell?!”

Ice King: “No rest for the sexy!”

Patience: “It was scary to think about perishing. But then I was like, ‘Hey what if we don’t perish?’”

Patience: “This world is crazy, right?! You’ve got weird old wizards and talking dogs—yo, dogs didn’t used to talk! Did you know that?”

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-35-five-short-tables

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/fionna-and-cake-return-adventure-time-series-short-237409

Spoiler

Can’t believe I missed this one.

Five Short Tables takes an interesting twist on The Graybles episodes as it centers around the Fiona and Cake universe and is hosted/narrated by Ice King and I like it when he reads his fanfiction.

The story within the story is Cake trying to create a story out of flapjacks by drawing inspiration from real life from observing a group of characters from Prince Gumball and Butler Butterscotch playing a tense game of Go to Turtle Prince trying to keep library fireproof from Flame Prince to Marshall Lee tricking LSPrince into taking what is supposedly a potion to cure coughing, and finally Ice Queen reading her Flynn the Human Being and Jacques the Raccoon fanfiction to Fiona and Cake.

It’s funny to hear Roz Ryan saying flapjack the entire time esp. when you know that she played Bubbie in the Misadventures of Flapjack. The ‘table’ I liked the most would be the Marshall Lee/Michael Dean and LSP one and I liked the whole Inception thing going on with the fanfiction within the universes.

Fave Quotes:

Cake: “Fionna! This character doesn’t serve any thematic purpose until much later in the meal.” Fionna: “Sorry, Cake. But these just look like formless blobs of sweet flapjack to me.”

Flour Demon: “You’re wasting me on breakfast!” Fionna and Cake: “No one asked you, flour demon.”

Cake: “You will outlive everyone you love. Cry for me, little mama!”

Fionna: “Hey, Ice Queen! I really liked your story! The imagery was tight.” Ice Queen: (Shoots ice beam) “Can you believe it was a first draft?” Fionna: (Deflects ice beam.) “No way!”

Cuber: “I’ll never look at tables the same way again.”

Just watched the last episode! And wow, amazing. Musical episode was beyond my expectations without a Sugar-penned tune. Marceline actually cover's Mitski's song Francis Forever.

And lastly, it looks like AV Club is finally ending its episodic reviews here: http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/adventure-time-departs-tv-club-emotional-summer-mu-238724

It's so surprising that so many people have fallen off the Adventure Time bandwagon. I'd say season 7 has been such a big production and one of my favorite seasons. Especially as an audience, we're finally getting emotional payoff that we've been waiting for. Though some answers are still withheld. AT does such a good job capturing the vast world and emotions Ooo represents.

I bet you AT will be ending Season 7 or 8 and receiving a movie or at least a special. I feel like the plot isn't tied up, but I'm starting to see the machinations of emotional satisfaction.

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-36-the-music-hole

Great, just when I thought Five Short Tables was the start of the hiatus, I happen to miss this episode as well. Darn you, CN, with lack of previews/advertisements and awkward scheduling! Also, quit it with the ‘TTG!’ and ‘PPG!’ promos, dang it, hardly anybody cares about that sh*t!

Anyways, this episode is a good musical treat even without Sugar’s involvement with great continuity and singing from fan favorites like Susan Strong, Marceline (obviously, and singing a wicked cover of Mitski’s Francis Forever), rappers FP and MC NEPTR with BMO at the turn style helm. Oh, and Ice King as well during a mosh pit of Banana Guards and Candy people caused by Gunther.  Also, the continuity with the Finn Sword as well as the battle of the bands as way to cheer him up.

Like in the episode Isla de Senorita and how they make an island into a character, they make a character out of a huge hole in the ground who had been there for millennia and I also like the song it and Finn sang in the end along with showing that the Sword is alright.

Fave Quotes:

Finn: “Everything’s broken.” BMO: “No it’s not! This is still good! Five seconds rule!”

“Jeffreyed up in the dome piece!”

Finn: “Wow! I wonder how long they practiced that.”

Marceline: “Find my pick, you scroobs!”

Also, bonus vid about the Great Mushroom War:

...but they went out of their way to actually make a special promo for the "Music Hole"...which is a clever title now that I think about it (If you say it real fast it sounds like Musical). They've been playin' that promo all week. There's no episode next week though, Regular Show's special is takin' that block...the whole thing.

http://www.watchcartoononline.com/adventure-time-season-7-episode-37-daddy-daughter-card-wars

Daddy Daughter Card Wars as the title indicates brings back the game Card Wars, Jake’s favorite card game he nerds over and showcases his daughter Charlie who had yet to have a speaking role at this point and happens to practice tarot cards and lives in one of the pyramids in Giza. Though my favorites are still Jake Jr. and TV.

I really like the BMO parts in the beginning with it going overboard and Grand Prix and Moniker. Also, really like the use of waves crashing to represent Jake’s bottled up rage and the tarot card reading that shows Charlie’s future. The message of coming to grips with age, fixing ‘the faults of youth’ and letting go of past grudges really shines and provides great daddy-daughter development and growth.

Fave Quotes:

Charlie: “I love the sea, papa!” Jake: “How your card fingers feelin’?” Charlie: “That’s a weird thing to say, papa.”

Jake: “Twenties are for regretting. Thirties are for being dignified.”

Jake: “I will crush you, Grand Prix!”

Charlie: “Hey, you two been kissin’?” “Self-care mega blow.”

Referee: “Just a garbage, garbage win.”

Charlie: “My forties, I’m afraid. Also, I’m naming you Gibon.” “Yeah! Wrinkles!”

https://www.watchcartoononline.io/adventure-time-season-7-episode-38-39-preboot-reboot

http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/adventure-time-sets-new-mysteries-its-season-final-246200

Spoiler

*Sigh…CN oh CN. Why didn’t you bother to advertise this? And adding insult to injury to air it on a Saturday than on Thursday. I’m seriously having such a divisive stance of like/dislike of CN lately with their kissing WBs/DC/Lego’s butt without any quality control with the shows coming from there, scheduling conflicts, and syndicating TTG reruns up the wazoo. All the while shoving good shows like Regular Show and AT to the side and having promising stuff like Infinity Train and Victor and Valentino, Turbo Lakewood Plaza and other good pilots on Youtube that are waiting to be greenlit into series themselves. Also, stop it with the toy franchises, you’re not Hasbro or Mattel.

*Sigh…anyway back to business to discuss the season seven finale two-parter Preboot/Reboot which gives a lot of callbacks to things in previous episodes such as Tiffany, Time Bear, Rattleballs, Jake Suit, and others along with introducing new ones. Preboot serves more as an informational/expositional episode that hints about Susan Strong’s past and connection to the chip in her head and possibly about the existence of a whole colony of humans somewhere. It marks the return of Tiffany and introduces the Dr. Gross, a scientist that is decked out with mods who tries to do research on the heroes and turn them into hybrids and spare parts. Almost has an Island of Dr. Moreau vibe to it. Tiffany’s heroic sacrifice was a bit of surprise and whether he survives is a mystery.

Reboot is an action oriented episode that serves as the climax as well as the cliffhanging transition to season 8. Susan Strong’s chip gets reactivated and eventually hulks out and steals Finn to take him to an extraction point. A ton of fight scenes ensue from fighting the banana guards to the Jake Suit. But the surprise at the end was when the Grass Sword and the Finn Sword acted on their own, leaving Finn armless once again to form into that strange being.

A good finale that expounds and expands on things and unravels and deepens on backstory and mysteries. Here’s to see what happens next season.

As for my thoughts on the season overall, I thought it was better than the last, even though I didn’t get much of the complaints for that season and thought it was fine, just only Orgalorg was a bit overhyped and didn’t like Chips and Ice Cream. Again, I really liked it and still surprised that a show with this longevity maintains a good/decent amount of quality (unlike some other shows of late *glances over at FiM).

Fave Quotes:

Tiffany: “Pretty nice, huh? I mean, I came straight from a Worm Queen’s intestines, so I’m biased. I was like a crazed vermillion crab, limping along the sea floor.”

Scorpmunk: “Geez, I did my warning dance and everything.”

Jake: “A stranger’s just a friend you haven’t taken candy from yet.”

Tiffany: “You can’t do that, boss! I’ve got a blood brother connection with Jake, and to a much lesser extent, Finn.”

Finn: Hey Suzy…Suzy…Suzy

Hey guys, I happened to look in this thread on a whim, and noticed for several pages there have been links to watchcartoononline. While it's not a hard-written rule, we typically don't allow sharing of these sorts of sites/links publicly (this also applies to things like fansubs/ROMs/etc.), especially since their only function is to host pirated material and collect advertising dollars off of it. The only reason this passed us before is because we had no idea, but I'd like to put a stop to it now. Thanks.

[Pitchfork Article]

Eight episode mini-series of Finn, Jake, BMO, and Susan Strong exploring the oceaaaaaan for mysteries and sercrets. It's rolling out January 30 and ending February 2. Looks like Steven Bombs were successful so Adventure Time is getting the same treatment. Ugh. I was so spoiled when we received a new episode every week for a solid two years. u.u;

Oh my god. I will die if we meet humans in a cyborg-like post-apocalyptic society. My mind will be totally blown. I would be just happy with ruins of a post-society as well. This is wayyyyy too Fallout for me.

Also excited to learn more about Susan's connection to this place. I wonder if she is the only 'seeker' left.

The Stakes mini-series also got this straight week set up...2 episodes a day they say, and hey, that's the thing to expect. Nice Alt. intro.

I'm glad the show didn't just get left on that really weird note from the last episode!

I'm into the idea, I like the stevenbombs and Jan 30 isn't too far away. It's exciting to me that after so long the show is...

Spoiler

really getting into the post apocalyptic cyborg human stuff. It was really suprising when they went to that weird lab and I'm mega interested to see where it goes from here.

so yeah!

A sneak peek of season 8!

Also, here's a minisode called The Gift that Reaps Giving where Death makes a mix tape for Life.

Spoiler

I really like Life's design.
