Based on that tralier I got the 'hold right to win' feeling. That level doesn't look any more impressive than Origins designs IMO. I hope that the levels are more interesting than that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the simplicity of that level is partially being due to being the first one of it's kind possibly? All the early levels we've been seeing have been set in a medieval castle haven't they?

If I remember correctly, it does. You go from outside of the castle to inside where it's filled wit hlava, then go back out to LotLD

We saw some Land of the Livid Dead stage at E3, it looked way easier than the one from Origins.

Probably not much of a big deal if it is. It's become notorious for its appearence in Origins, almost hard to remember it was just a level in the middle of the game in Rayman 3.

What is hard to believe its that the Land of the Livid Dead from Rayman 3 was just a peacefull area full of ancient temple ruins and statues unlike the one from Origins which fits the name.

Like what?

How Rayman was conceived, the fact that The Magician is a Teensie and that he was evil all along, the Land of the Livid Dead, and most importantly

This motherfucker.

I think that the story of how Rayman was created in this one was scraped from the game, not sure if they still refer it in any way.

The Magician was not always evil, according to the leaked Origins script he started to get jealous of how cool Mr.Dark was and decided to copy him, I believe that doesn't change anything about the original magician other than being a teensie now.

The other stuff I don't know maybe the Land of Livid Dead in Origins is a different place from the one in 3, the Bubble dude I just don't know anything about him other than creating stuff from dreams/nightmares.

So, can you play this game without Murphy touchscreen mode?

Yes, Ubisoft has confirmed that Murphy is optional. There's also an IGN video a couple pages back that shows them switching Murphy on and off throughout the level.

Edit: Here it is

This is going to make a great launch title for the WiiU. And I'm sooo glad I get to jump in and out of Murphy at any moment.

- In the single player mode a good portion of the game will be played as Murfy. Rayman will be AI controlled and Murfy (the player) is his protector

- There will still be some "classic" levels where you can play as Rayman in single player

Well, they fucked it, at least now we know why it is Wii U exclusive.

New developer demo.

Apparently if you're playing Single Player, there will be quite a few stages where you play as Murfy assisting an AI controlled Rayman. I guess the shield level was just one of them.

I'm gonna be doing this in co-op so it doesn't bother me that much but

WOW I JUST GOT NINJA'D YOU BIG PIECE OF POOP

Ahem...

Yeah, I'll be doing multiplayer so I'm not too bothered by this but I want to play more traditional levels.

Oh....well, that kinda sucks, seeing as how pretty much none of my friends or family are interested in the Wii U. Maybe I could convince a couple to do co-op with me, but....man, that really is kinda sucky news.

I just hope the Rayman sections outweigh the Murfy sections by a long shot.

Wait a second.

WHAT THE FUCK. I don't really like how that sounds.

So the game is a glorified escort mission?

Oh my god, please please please not let this be true. This could be the one thing that could send my hype for this game crashing down.

Makes me wonder why there couldn't be two play modes, one where Murphy is the AI while you control Rayman and the other where you control Murphy while the AI controls Rayman.

I'd like to see some levels where this happens before I call it shit and say the game is rUined.

If it's done right, it could be ya know fun. Still hyped. Besides the Murphy parts could be used as a reflex test, cutting and slashing vines and switches fast enough to save Rayman while he sprints through cool-ass looking levels. Actually now that I think about it, that makes me even more hyped!
