New Nintendo Power Preview

I don't remember that being confirmed. Do you have a link?

Colors have more than one power to use (the laser can blast through enemies and zap you to new areas in levels using crystals scattered about) and the game encourages you to go back to previous levels to use the power-ups to explore new routes. I imagine this will be imperative to find the Chaos Emeralds, which Iizuka-san confirmed are in the game. When asked if the logical conclusion to their appearance in the game, Super Sonic, would appear he gave a revealing “no comment.”

So you really DO eat Robots with the Purple Wisp. Somebody totally called that.

*laughs*

Though once you realize the main part of the Purple Wisp design is it's teeth and that Frenzy Sonic has teeth, it gets more obvious.

Now we just need to find out what the DS Purple Wisp does. Looks ghosty, so maybe some sort of paranormal power?

I'm actually guessing it has something to do with a Black Hole but we'll have to see.
