Cool, thanks for the heads-up Woun. Didn't notice they'd updated the Press Vault with these yesterday.

^ Haha, I see a Chili Dog advert (It's circled). Those things make it into so many Sonic games lately.

And you can now clearly see that Sonic isn't smiling as he dies. B)

No huger than in Unleashed, it's the exact same model with new textures. Now if only that ridge between his eyes was a little smaller and the gradient softer, the model would be perfect /offtopic.

What's with the blue and silver pillars on the side of the neon arrow sign being so blurrry? They look weird. And that's some pretty clever level design right there, one of those moment where the homing attack is cleverly used. Time your attack on Crawl right and he'll bounce you upwards ready to hit that otherwise inaccessible spring.

Level looks gorgeous.

See that all you doubters of S4's graphics?

It looks mighty fine.

THe only level with art design issues, is Splaswh Hill, and thats primarily due to the plasticy grass.

If they had just prerendered individual blades of grass, it would have looked MUCH better.

Splash Hill looks awful because of more than it's plastic grass. There's also the really bad BG and multiple light sources. I think that none of S4 looks particularly ZOMG amazing graphically, but everywhere (bar SHZ) looks more than just adequate.

Not ZOMG amazing, that's why Crysis exists.

However, I will say that I love the texturing they've done. Looks damn good. Also, yeah, that placement of a spring and Crawler is pretty awesome.

I have to say, I was surprised I got to this thread through a link on Destructoid instead of the usual way. Anyways, this level looks gorgeous, and I'm glad to see the Wii version doesn't have a big dip in graphical quality since that's the version I'll most likely be getting. (I can save a few bucks since I have leftover Wii points, whereas I'd have to pay full price on the PS3)

Ha ha! Our forums made Destructoid :D

Just read the comments section there and noticed SEGA's Clumsyorchid answered some questions there.

We're here, together, with you. Sonic 4 retains this old school style of play. You won't find any long cutscenes linking you from one section to the next, it's the same as what you are looking for.

I wouldn't be too hung up on the Episodic nature of the series, you'll have a better idea of this when the next episodes hit; it's definitely not episodic because of a story angle in the way you are fearing, it's very much like the classic Sonic approach.

Games are complex and it's hard to give exact dates on stuff. It's nice to have an ultimatum tied to the statement there, but it's not like we're sitting on magical dates that we simply aren't throwing out there - they are tied to a lot of factors.

Im a game designer and oh boy, games are a pain to make.

You need lots of will power and a great team to make a game good.

The Casino looks beautiful, and is that a Chillidog with extra cheese??? whats the best restaurant I can buy me one? I haven't had 1 in a long time heheh.

Now Im curious what else pops up in those tv screens in the BG.

Now that is a gorgeous level! The level of detail is astounding. Really liking the bright colors and the city backdrop.

I don't quite understand why anybody has a problem with the graphics. Splash Hill isn't amazing, but Lost Labyrinth and Casino Street are just beautiful.

The PS3/360 version doesn't look too much better than the Wii version.

I think I'll get the Wii version, because Classic Controller Pro is the best current generation controller in my book.

I like that artwork of Eggman on the cards. It looks like a mix of the old art style with the modern design.
