Lulz. Sonic Colours = 1337

I knew it all along XP

I respect that they have their own opinion on the game that differs to most reviews and players, but I really think they could have explained themselves better without being so offensive. Oh well.

Jim Sterling himself has shown good humour about this whole review thing and knows SEGA aren't personally attacking him, so I'm puzzled why Tristan is so offended

Because he's a whiny baby.

Looking at @Tristan's Bawwwing "surprise," I'm dangerously close to putting my Axis of Evil thing back up. ;)

The story so far...

GameTrailers digs themselves a grave by angering the fanbase with a poorly put together negative review.

GameTrailers then proceed to try and redeem themselves by explaining their criticisms more thoroughly.

All seems moderately acceptable.

And then GameTrailers proceeds to call all Sonic fans "furries" and dug themselves right back into the grave they had just climbed out of.

The moral of the story? "Way to go, GT"

GamesTM's Wii review score is in:

Sonic Colours(Wii): 8/10

"Arguably the Holy Grail of 3D Sonic games"

Better Than: Sonic and The Black Knight / As Good As: Sonic the Hedgehog 2

They give Sonic 4: Ep 1 a 7/10:

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 - Ep1: 7/10

Sonic Colours Wii as good as Sonic 2? Now that's a bold statement :o

I'm pretty picky, and I agree with their assessment. The only Sonic game that I think is better than Colors is S3&K. I'm having a fantastic time with it.

Seems Iizuka wasn't joking when he said he believed this game was going to be as good as the classics. It still has a long way to beat S3&K tho.

Yea I second that chaossupreme. I find colors to be as much fun as sonic 1 and 2, and this comes from someone who has been called a classic purist countless of times.

Alright, alright, come on guys, those 2 morons obviously don't represent Game Trailers as a whole. And besides, I stopped taking them seriously when they said "who's a Sonic fan anymore, anyway"? Well, maybe they'd know if they moved out of My-Head-Is-So-Far-Up-My-Own-Ass-I-Taste-Corn Ville, they'd remember the selling power Sonic has, even when his games suck. Sonic Unleashed sold through the roof, even though half of the game was through the floor. Pure demand alone got Sonic into Brawl. And he even makes some

in different forms of current pop culture. Not to mention they're in the minority when they call Colors a "bad" game. Currently, the general consensus, as a whole, seems to be that the game is very good overall. Not spectacular and not as great as that annoying in-game announcer makes it out to be, but still a very solid game, and not just by Sonic-game standards. Even Screw Attack, a subsidiary of Game Trailers, said pretty much that in their review of the game.

So in short? That little "zing" at the fan-base shouldn't be much of a big deal, it's blatant bologna they just put out there to get more views. In fact, it probably wasn't even worth this post. I mean, we all know the fan-base has its bat-shit crazies, but like the detractors of this game, they're also in the minority. Just move along.

Gamer.nl 8/10

"Sonic Colours is a beautiful and challenging game that both old Sonic-fans and newcomers will appreciate. The problems with Sonic and having freedom in three dimensions remain, but you'll soon forget those parts when you're flying through 2D-levels at full speed."

GamesTM and Cubed3's review still are not up on Metacritic. When they are maybe the game's metacritic will go up to 79.

It's strange, at the New Wii Releases section, it says that the Sonic Colors score is based on 36 critics, but when I enter, it says that it's based on 35...

Make up your mind Metacritic. Is it 35 or 36?

Clearly we all need to prod Metacritic to put on some positive reviews instead of mixed ones, especially when they're publications that DO add to the metascore. 8/

After playing Colors again and again I can really say that Sonic Team has done it!

This game is what I was hoping to see after Sonic Adventure 2.

this game feels like a dream, really hard to describe.

The Music also helps, its just stunning! this game is like all Sonic games combined.

Guardian has put their short and positive review of the Wii version out, but no score:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2010/nov/21/sonic-colours-hedgehog-wii

Wait, I thought Guardian already reviewed it and they gave 3 stars out of 5 because the woman that reviewed it clearly needed to get her eyes fixed.

EDIT: Ok just saw that it isn't actually Guardian's review. The person who reviewed it here was from the Observer.
