I think the 78 on your end is just Metacritic being buggy. I just checked, and it got lowered down to 77 on my end because of the EDGE review (6/10).

Granted, it probably won't be too hard to push back up to 78 (assuming there are still more reviews coming in), but this sets it even farer away from 80. But I think hoping for an 80 is pretty much a lost cause at this point...

I don't really care too much, but I just want the point to get across to Sega that this is a good game. Granted, most people seem to agree that the game is good (even the harder-to-please people on NeoGAF) and a 77-78 is in the area of "generally favorable ratings", but I could've sworn I remember reading somewhere recently that Sega said they hope their future games score at least 80s on Metacritic (could be remembering wrong, though). I'd hate for them to fall 2-3 points short of their goal, especially when this game is a game Sega should be proud of.

But yeah, reviews obviously don't have much of an effect on me personally. If reviews didn't effect Sega's perception of each game and what path they choose for the future of the series, I probably wouldn't pay much attention to them at all.

But it all seriousness, this game is great and it should be getting those reviews as such. but like i predicted waaaay before colors released it would be downgraded because its sonic and not 2d so it must automatically suck without even putting alittle effort into it.

Plus SEGA did say if any sonic games from now on don't get a average metacritic score, their ripping it off the store shelves. i think 75 out of 100 is the average.

I'm hoping some of these reviews Shadzter recently posted go up on metacritic.

when gamestm review is up it will raise it back to a 78, unless worst reviews come in. A 75 and above is the "good" range on Metacrtic so Sonic colors is doing fine. Oh and Hooked Gamers gavethe DS version a 7.7

Sigh typical. Why is it that a good 10-15 of the positive reviews haven't been added, yet only 1 or 2 of the mixed/negative reviews haven't? Metacritic is lame ¬_¬

I bet the average would be in the 80s if all the reviews for the game were included.

On a side note I'd quite like to read Edge's review. Their reviews are usually very well written.

Eh, it's not like Metacritic is the predominate factor when it comes to games, or at least when it's not a consolewar thing lol. And it's not like there are many Sonic games that have or are above an 8. The Only ones are Rush,Advance 1 and 2 and the XBLA port of Sonic 2. Ports of the Adventure games show that the reviews of the DC verions aren't relevant anymore. Hell, Sonic&Knuckles has an average of 69.

79.48% is correct. The easiest way to work that out is to import the data into a spreadsheet and let it do all of the work for you. Don't tell me you put each value into a calculator...

Not exactly a review, but this is the best forum topic to post this:

Sonic Colours is the highest rate recently released Wii game on the Nintendo channel and got a platinum medal. That list is based on user votes. The only other platinum medal game on that list is Sengoku Basara 3.

For comparison: Golden Eye & Sonic 4 got a silver medal, Tower of Shadow got a bronze medal.
