What stages do you want to see in Sonic Generations?

You think we'll have the Boss battle without the zone itself?

I see....why not but then that might mean that we're gonna have random battles?

Finish Green Hill Zone get to fight the Boss from Mushroom Hill. I'm not against it that's for sure.

No, I mean they could have moved the boss to a different level, Casino Night to be exact.

Oh, woops. I just read the first part where you said random battles. I thought you meant you would randomly start fighting Eggman in Launch Base. Sorry

Yeah, it would be nice to see that boss done well. His pattern was very predictable and tedious in Rush.

...

The music was a different story. :'D

Well, at the SEGA booth, in the Sonic Generations corner, a timeline of the series' main games encircled the scene. The games listed were as follows:

-Sonic 1 (1991)

-Sonic 2 (1992)

-Sonic CD (1993)

-Sonic 3 (1994)

-Sonic and Knuckles (1994)

-Sonic Adventure (1999)

-Sonic Adventure 2 (2001)

-Sonic Heroes (2003)

-Sonic Rush (2005)

-Sonic 2006 (2006)

-Sonic and the Secret Rings (2007)

-Sonic Unleashed (2009, I guess?)

-Sonic Colors (2010)

(View pics here)

Given how these titles were given greater significance over the others, and how they were given a particular spotlight in the booth, it's safe to assume that this could be the list of games we'll be seeing levels return from. Could be very interesting.. If this is true, even if each era is represented by only one game, and each hedgehog has one respective act through the level, we could be getting 13 levels for each hedgehog, not counting bosses, possible extra missions, etc. And I'd pretty much be cool with that. Sure, extra levels would be nice, especially considering how hard it must be to just pick one level out of a plethora of great choices from each game.

I just hope each level gets a fair amount of representation. In fact, what if the level selection resembles Colors' world map?

Of course, replace Sweet Mountain, Tropical Park, and the like with Green Hill, City Escape, Rooftop Run, and other levels we'll probably be seeing. Imagine if they were fleshed out to the degree (of course with extra missions, bosses, and all that good shit, I covered that ), and again, like Colors, actually unlock multiple levels at once and play through them in whichever order you'd please? That would certainly make me happy.

All that said, here's the list of levels I'd like to see from the game:

Sonic 1 - Green Hill (obligatory grassy hill intro stage)

Sonic 2 - Chemical Plant (sort of an Eggman base/dirty industrial area)

Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway (it's seriously the best stage from the game)

Sonic 3 - Ice Cap (snow level)

Sonic and Knuckles - Sky Sanctuary (ancient ruins stage, and it very well could be the best one yet. Besides, it just NEEDS to show up)

Sonic Adventure - Emerald Coast (beach stage, and represents Sonic Adventure better than any other level I can think of)

Sonic Adventure 2 - City Escape (it's awesome and confirmed, mo-fo's)

Sonic Heroes - Bingo Highway (A casino and luck-based level)

Sonic Rush - Water Palace (you know you want to see the watery goodness in HD)

Sonic 2006 - Crisis City (Combines traditional fire levels with a cityscape... plus it was one of the only things in Sonic 2006 MEANT to crash and burn...)

Sonic and the Secret Rings - Dinosaur Jungle (one of my favorite jungle levels in Sonic history due to its motif... and besides, in a game featuring time travel, why NOT see some dinos?)

Sonic Unleashed - Rooftop Run (confirmed... and hey, it's a pretty cool stage)

Sonic Colors - Planet Wisp (it brings things full circle, being a grassy, life-rich level being encroached upon by Eggman's technology. Plus, it represents Colors better than any other stage from that game)

Let the fan-gasming commence B)

Spagonia is confirmed? Where did you get that from?

If Rooftop Run is confirmed, then I'll be disappointed. I'm not saying it's a bad level, but we already experienced Rooftop Run with Modern Sonic almost 3 years ago with the same gameplay. It's kinda a waste if you ask me...

It's tricky though; you gotta watch the vid all the way to the end; don't click away when you "think" it's over ;)

Plus, the level list is extending all the way to Colors. It might feel like a waste, but remember Classic Sonic's gonna have his own version to play through as well :P

Spagonia appears at around 1:08 for all of... two, three seconds?

But it appears anyway. And that's confirmation enough. It sucks that it's so short, but hey, what can ya do =/

Why Planet Wisp? That's the most boring stage in the game and could end up being a Green Hill look-alike. Sweet Mountain or Starlight Carnival would be much more fitting and would really represent Colours' craziness.

I'd love to see Twinkle Park return, actually. =O or the freaking Sky Deck. Could you imagine how badass those would be with Modern Sonic? They'd be pretty cool with classic Sonic as well, especially Sky Deck, since it'd probably be very similar to Wing Fortress Zone.

After seeing City Escape and Rooftop Run, I'm second guessing Speed Highway and Emerald Coast being the Sonic Adventure stage. Emerald Coast is too similar to Green Hill, and is yet another sunny blue sky stage (just as GHZ, CE and RR are). Speed Highway might be the one, but like RR and CE it is another city stage. At this point, I'd rather see Twinkle Park or Red Mountain for some variety.

Don't buy that list on TSSZ. :U It's the same phony list Trunks posted, which he confirmed to be fake. SEGA knows better than to omit Sonic CD and combine S3K as one stage.

EDIT: Gimme Lost World or Sky Deck for Sonic Adventure.

I doubt it, only because Patrick Riley has said that levels from all the main Sonic games would be appearing, and the timeline of the games showcased on the Generations booth seems to be 13 levels long. I think the toy line was just designed as a cool retro throwback for the 20th anniversary, not meant to be a line of toys for Generations.

I could be wrong, but I seriously hope not. It's a pretty lame list, compared to what we could get from the 13 games.

It's kind of a weird list of games to take levels from. I mean, you've got Rush, but no Rush Adventure. Secret Rings, but no Black Knight. Game selection just seems sort of random. Then again, the selection is weird enough that I can't imagine any other reason to highlight those games unless they're playing a role in Generations.

IF this is the games zones are coming from, then this is what I'd like to see:

Sonic 1: Green Hill (CONFIRMED)

Sonic CD: Stardust Speedway or Quartz Quadrant

Sonic 2: Chemical Plant

Sonic 3: Carnival Night

Sonic&Knuckles: Lava Reef or Sky Sanctuary

Sonic Adventure: Ice Cap

Sonic Adventure 2: City Escape (CONFIRMED)

Sonic Heroes: Egg Fleet

Sonic Rush: Water Palace

Sonic the Hedgehog: Radical Train or Kingdom Valley

Secret Rings: Sand Oasis

Sonic Unleashed: Rooftop Run (CONFIRMED)

Sonic Colors: Planet Wisp or Starlight Carnival

Where does he say levels from all main games? And all main games could be- S1, S2, S3K, SA1, SA12, SH, S06, SU, SC. That's main enough, no?

I posted the pics from SEGA's booth showing their timeline of what they consider the main games, check it out. It's 13 titles: Sonic 1, 2, 3, CD, and Knuckles, Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Rush, 2006, Secret Rings, Unleashed, and Colors.

I've seen the list. Nothing says that's what they consider to be the main games, it's just how Sonic's evolved over the years.
