What stages do you want to see in Sonic Generations?

I think my problem if they choose the stages it looks like they might be choosing is that we're running into, "To many of the same tropes" between stages. We have Green Hill, which is already a tropics area by the ocean. We have City Escape, which is a city stage. However, it looks like we'll have Spagonia as well, which is also a city stage, it looks like we might have Chemical Plant, which is also a city-like stage (hoping they more play out the iron factory part than the city part), and if Sonic CD comes into play we almost surely will get Stardust Speedway, which is another city stage. If we get Emerald Coast, while I love it, then we have another green topics trope stage, and there are other stages in Sonic Adventure I would want a lot more. Then from Sonic 06, we would likely get Kingdom Valley, which is another green lakeside stage except with more ruins. From Sonic Colors, we likely would get Planet Wisp, which is another green stage with alien plants. From Sonic Heroes we might very well get Seaside Hill, which is another tropical green stage, or Casino Park, which while I would love a casino stage would still be a city-type stage. They all have differences, sure, but they all are following similar tropes and missing out on something that makes Sonic who he is, the large array of tropes collected in a game.

My main worry about Sonic Generations the most right now is the lack of variety in stages, I have found some of my favorite levels have been the ones later in the game often, but because everyone loves Green Hill/City Escape/Rooftop Run/Emerald Coast, I'm afraid we're going to end up with a game full of these type of stages and lacking variety we might find else-wise. These are bringing new with old and old with new, I would like to see some more stage tropes than the likely choices, but because everyone is clambering for these stages I'm afraid the chance to see some stages that would work awesome in these new HD paints and recreations lost. ;_;

I agree with you^ but didn't one preview said that they take in consideration the level themes too?

For example Rooftop run it's one of the most favorites stages from the Modern era. It's logical to put it in but they could easily take it off and put let's say Cool edge a winter level theme.

By doing that they killing the option of putting Ice Cap which in my opinion is the best winter zone of all time.

Also Chemical Plant i would put it in the industrial theme not in the city theme.

I hope it makes sense what i'm saying.

Alright, alright, maybe I should make a new list. I call it the "non-Emerald Coast list" :P

-Green Hill

-Chemical Plant

-Stardust Speedway

-Ice Cap

-Flying Battery

-Red Mountain

-City Escape

-Casino Park

-Kingdom Valley

-Rooftop Run

-Planet Wisp

I'm not the biggest fan of Red Mountain, but I love the music for both segments, and I think it could sound great if remixed in the same style as modern Green Hill. Plus, as a whole, it's very impressive, with the volcanic eruptions, rising lava flow, and incredible height. It was also voted very highly, next to Emerald Coast and Speed Highway. That, and it covers the lava level requirement :P And yes, while I'd love to see Lava Reef come back, Flying Battery is a more unique level, and having it remade could just be awesome, if done right.

Plus, with news that game-specific gimmicks might return for that game, I think Planet Wisp would be a better fit for Colors. I do hope that for the other games though, we'll see something similar. Maybe for CD, the time travel will return, or for Ice Cap and Flying Battery, elemental shields will return, or for Rooftop Run, maybe.........

No, nevermind.. it cannot be said. It's too despicable to name.

Okay i want to make a new list as well(a little jealous of EXshad :D) too and i will base the list to a realistic number and not DLC!

Here i go:

1) Tropical Island Theme: Green Hill Zone(confirmed)

2) Casino Theme: Casino Park Zone or Twinkle Park

3) Underwater Theme: Hydrociy

4) Industrial Theme: Chemical Plant

5) City Theme: City Escape and Rooftop Run(Confirmed)

6) *Underground/Cave Theme: Lava Reef

7) Desert Theme: Sand Oasis

8) *Lava/Volcano Theme: Crisis City or Red Mountain

9) Winter Theme: Ice Cap

10) Sky theme: Sky Chase(some Tails action) or Windy Valley

11) Flying Fortress Theme: Levitated Ruin or Sky Deck

12) Death Egg theme(xD): Death egg of course

13) Outer Space theme: Doomsday

Also if you put Underground/cave theme with Lava/Volcano theme then you can get all in one: Lava Reef. :)

According to my man cobanermani456, a list has supposedly been leaked by a guy working at Sega. I wouldn't fully trust this though, since it's just a rumour. But here's the video as well as a list of the levels:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbmZjZsilYs&feature=feedu

- Green Hill Zone

- Chemical Plant Zone

- Sky Sanctuary Zone

- Radical Highway

- City Escape

- BINGO Highway

- Seaside Hill

- Crisis City

- Rooftop Run

- Planet Wisp

Note that this is for the CONSOLE version.

It seems quite believable, yet at the same time not really. Two stages from Heroes and Adventure 2 but none from Adventure 1? Something's up. But I'll take this with a pinch of salt I guess. Speculation is fun after all =P

Or for Unleashed's Rooftop Run, what if the werehog....

Wait, this idea just got really shitty.

lol, it'd be kinda funny...

Maybe a super-ultra-hyper polished version of it for 30 seconds.

People likes to spread fake lists around without any official word from Sega at all.

So wait... one of the big reasons the list is being ignored (barring Ruby's debunking) is because a Sonic CD level isn't in?

I find it weird that Sonic CD, the one that's the least ported, least referenced and least talked about by SEGA is somehow guaranteed to be in this game.

I'd hold off on the hopes until we see more levels, guys. Sonic CD representation would be awesome, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.

Considering it was included in the ol' Facebook poll it doesn't seem to unlikely. Plus Jazwares (who apparently are only allowed to make figures for existing game characters) are making Classic Metal and Classic Amy. It would be a little odd for them to appear anywhere but in a CD level.

If they include a Sonic Heroes stage, Sonic HAS to say this:

Just imagine:

Modern Sonic: So how we gonna tackle this stage?

Classic Sonic: *Shrugs shoulder*

Modern Sonic: I'll tell you how...

Classic Sonic: *Raises eyebrow*

Modern Sonic: With the REAL SUPER POWER OF TEAMWORK!!

Classic Sonic: *Facepalm and nod of complete disapproval*

Well, City Escape is kinda obscure as well, at least in comparision to Green Hill.

They appeared in other games than CD, though. And said poll didn't include Heroes or Unleashed, either. I dunno, I just don't see it happening.

I'd love to be proven wrong.

The only classic game they appeared in that has any chance of being included is CD. And said poll did randomly cut off at SA2, but still. It's still very likely that it had something to do with Generations. The dates match up, and when else did SEGA survey the fans?

Also keep in mind that CD is commonly referred to as one of the best games in the series. Heroes... isn't.

As long as I get to race metal sonic, ill be fine with whatever they do with CD. Ill race him in stardust, speed highway, labyrinth zone I dont care!

And city escape is insanely popular bc SA2:B is like Sonic 1 to the newer fans as their first sonic game.
