Damn straight. That i want too.

Come on Sonic team don't fail me. I am 99,9% sure they will release DLC. Hell they even released DLC for Sonic 06.

Remember how in Unleashed (apart from the obvious Werehog stages), some acts took place at different times of the day? Including DLC there was Savannah Citadel, Rooftop Run, Cool Edge and Windmill Isle. It'd be great if they added some fo that to Generations. It'd really represent Rooftop Run and Speed Highway well.

For the 3DS level list I would like:

Classic Era:

Sonic 1: Green Hill Zone

Sonic 2 Casino Night Zone

Sonic 3&K: Hydrocity Zone or Ice Cap Zone

Advance Era:

Sonic A1: Egg Rocket

Sonic A2: That Music Stage (Cant remember that name)

Sonic A3: Chaos Angel or that City Stage

Rush Era:

Sonic Rush: Huge Crisis

Sonic Rush A: Havent played the game yet

Well, I think Sonic generations should replace at least one of the unnaturalistic levels, but it seems too late, lets see what happens with the DLC.

I'm just SUPER HAPPY were getting the boss stage of Stardust Speedway!!!

I knew Metal Sonic was a boss, but I didn't think he'd be in Stardust Speedway 'cause it was not on the list.

Even tho it's only one act (the most iconic act of Sonic CD) I'm so glad ST recreated it for the Sonic CD fans.

I just hope it's named onscreen.

Regarding 3DS speculation;

Since we now know that the 3DS version has 7 environments as opposed to 9, do you think the stages will still be divided up into eras? Or will the selection not be skewed for groupings?

Sonic colors needs more love :) i don't know why, but i think, we will only get GHZ for de classic era, then 3 for Advance, and another 3 for Rush/Rush Adventure/Colors

That would make sense, but it's already been confirmed that Casino Night is in the 3DS version.

Yeah I wonder how that will work out. Will they have the 3 classics and cut out an Advance/DS game or just Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Advance Trilogy and the two Rush games. Honestly I wish it was the 3 Classics, the Advance Series, and Rush Series/Colors but beggers can't be choosers.

What MODERN Sonic levels do you want to see classic Sonic play through in 2D sidescrolling?

One word: Eggmanland

I think it may be Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Advance 1-3, Rush, and Rush Adventure for stages, seeing as sonic 1 and 2 did in fact have gamegear versions (though Iizuka is using levels from the Genesis/Megadrive versions) Plus my boss speculation would still hold merit with this set-up

*SPOILER* This is relating to the leaked list of levels from the demo.

I believe

this might explain the lacklustre selection of themes/tropes represented. There's so much city and greens love, but not much for anything else. That's a real let down. Also, over at Wrecks, AAUK is saying the poll went up to Unleashed, not SA2. Maybe there was an error or something? It definitely said up to SA2.

@Blue Blood

The problem with that is they asked what tropes were their favorites and picked the levels (apparently) off those. As that evidently showed SEGA, people like cities and greens, but I highly doubt that means that they would want an entire game to be mostly that.

I went through the posts and this is what I found.

The SEGA person asked for people to choose their favorites out of the following categories:

-Air/Flight

-Casino

-City

-Water

-Beach

-Outer Space

-Snow/Ice

-Fire/Lava

-Rock/Mountains

-Greens/Forest/Jungle

-Factory/Industrial

-Temple/Ruins

-Haunted

-Desert/Sand

187 People posted their favorite types of levels and gave names and examples.

39 People chose City. City Escape was frequently mentioned in their reasoning..

35 People chose Greens/Forest/Jungle. Green Hill was frequently mentioned in their reasoning.

21 People chose Snow/Ice. Ice Cap was frequently mentioned in their reasoning.

20 People chose Casino. Casino Night was frequently mentioned in their reasoning.

15 People chose beach while 3 people chose water.

15 People chose outer space.

12 People chose ruins.

9 People chose factory/industrial. Chemical Plant was mentioned in their reasoning.

8 people couldn't decide on 1 favorite type of level.

4 People chose the haunted theme.

3 People chose Air/Flight.

2 People chose Fire/Lava. Both mentioned Lava Reef.

1 person likes levels that don't fit the other categories.

No one picked Rock/Mountains or Desert/Sand as favorite type of level.

Wow, thanks for going through the effort to do that.

So, together with the results of the "favourite level" poll, it mostly makes sense. But...

no ice or casino stage? That's really strange. Unless they're both being used on the 3DS version...

I think that's why Casino Night Zone is a DLC for the HD versions.

It's not a full stage, but rather just a minigame.

Wasn't it confirmed that Casino Night was in the 3DS version? Haha if we get an ICE stage on the 3DS version would pretty much confirm this speculation.

By the way guys, here's how the Planet Wisp would run in 1080p via Dolphin just in case anyone wants to have a peek:

For me, that's reason enough to choose this stage to represent Sonic Colors. Either that, or Sweet Mountain. XD

Wow I'm psyched to see it now. The recent Metal/CPZ/Tails reveal has really made me greedy. D:

Did I not tell you in response to questions about the areas poll that it was nothing to do with Generations and the only one to do with it was the big one?

Because I did.

And yes surprise surprise I still visit here. So stop being jealous because my rock is much sexier than yours. :P

Yes, after I posted here.

What?

For the record, nobody is ungrateful for how you managed to get fans with so many things at SEGA and the amount of heart you clearly put into everything. I'm just somewhat disappointed by the results of the poll, and am positive it only went up to SA2. Regardless, Generations looks like an amazing game and the stage list isn't the biggest problem ever.
