What stages do you want to see in Sonic Generations?

Regarding levels, someone posted this thread that was taken from NeoGaf (regarding something mentioned at Retro)

http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?368499-some-more-playable-zones-possibly-revealed-brace-yourself!

It was relating the Jazwares 20th Anniversary line with the possible characters and levels that will feature SG (Also regarding the selection of badniks), but all good discussion that the thread could have had was ruined by the IizukaXShadow stupidity. I brought this here to see what you think about this theory. I just have doubts about it, I still think what that preview said about the Chemical Plant and Angel Island 3D takes and the spins that they made for Unleashed/Colors levels and think to myself if they'd be able to lie with such things

I really hope we aren't getting Angel Island Zone. Not that I dislike the zone or anything, it's just that it's not the most unique zone in the series. Seeing in the HE would be nce but we're only getting a limited number of zones so I'd like as much variety as possible.

Speaking of which, how many zones does everyone think we're going to get in the game?

I don't know how many in-game there'll be (I'll bet...20?), but I'm sure this game will recive new zones via DLC

I would love to see Sonic and Metal Sonic racing in Stardust Speedway in Unleashed style. Make it happen Sega.

Angel Island is one of the most unique zones in the series. Not at first, but it ends up as one.

All the stages from 06, they should make them all intentionally glitchy.

Oh I get that the second Act of Angel Islamd is awesomely unique, but I feel like if Angel Islamd returns it'll only be based on Act 1. If we get the fire portion though, then bring it on.

I can't imagine they'd bring back AIZ and just leave it pristine and pretty. The fire is what makes it what it is. That said, there are far more interesting choices regardless. I just sincerely hope we get Hydrocity, but I' m sure that if we get a S3 stage it'll actually be Ice Cap. Don't get me wrong, ICZ is a good stage. I just like HCZ more. And because this game is being set across three eras, not just up to SA2 as we originally thought, more than one stage from any game seems unlikely.

I dunno. They might make exceptions? It also depends on if they're including handheld titles.

I can see two titles per genesis game, personally. :|a

I'd be really disappointed if they only did one zone per game. I think that the Genesis series has more zones worth revisiting. Just my opinion though.

If they are to make a Carnival Night Zone remix then it should sound something like this

And if Carnival Night Zone isn't in the game at all, then, this picture should describe my reaction

I agree with Canon. I, too, want Carnival Night Zone in Generations, too.

Even if only to punish the SHIT out of that goddamn BARREL!

Remember Chun nan's spinning platforms? That's what they can do with the barrels.

These are stages I'd love to see, personally.

- Labyrinth: Okay, so it's easily replaced with other water zones, but I'd love to see it reinvented in 3D for the sake of its cool atmosphere.

- Marble Zone: ...mostly for the music, plus it's a unique Sonic stage due to its lack of loops. It wouldn't really work for the Unleashed style gameplay, however.

- Scrap Brain: It's a cool factory-esque stage, and they could always shoehorn Labyrinth's features in this way.

- Chemical Plant: Kinda obligatory, but imagine how cool it'd be to go through those tubes in 3D!

- Mystic Cave: Da music. Also love its atmosphere.

- Casino Night: Slot machines, catchy music, and has potential for awesome eyecandy. That being said, Carnival Night would be just as cool.

- Ice Cap: Obligatory, but it has a lot of potential for fun in 3D, plus dat music.

- Hydrocity: If not Chemical Plant, this would be such an awesome stage in 3D. Love the visuals and tune.

- Carnival Night: The flooded section makes it pretty neat, and I love the platforming elements.

- Sandopolis: Act 2 is delightfully creepy. Would be fun to see its gimmicks in 3D.

- Lava Reef: It could be half Hidden Palace, half Lava Reef, gradually transitioning from lava to crystals. Plus, it'd be a good lava stage.

- Sky Sanctuary/Death Egg: Either one would be great on their own, but a combination might be nice!

I'll think of more later.

In all honesty I want some original stages in Generations. But other than that I would love to see...

Route 101 - Sonic Advance 3

Eggmanland - Sonic Unleashed

Radical Highway - Sonic Adventure 2

That's what I got on the tip of my tongue right now. I guess I need to play more Sonic. :P

Pirate Storm

It would be nice to have at least one good stage with stormy weather, pirate ships, surfing, and rocket riding.

A lot... Why can't be all of the stages, God? :P

But anyway, I really love to see:

Green Hill Zone: Obvious stage is obvious.

Star Light Zone: Music, stars... One of the pretty stages in the classic games.

Chemical Plant Zone: The first time I played this, I hated. The second time, I loved.

Angel Island Zone: The fire all over the island in Unleashed gameplay. That's it.

Ice Cap: Snow and skate in HD.

Radiant Emerald: I know it's from Sonic R, but that stage is awesome.

Emerald Coast: Whale.

Lost World: This can be good in the way that it can't has much running, because it's a labyrinth, so they can put this stage with Modern Sonic going "slow".

City Escape: Truck.

Preaching to the choir.

Fuck an act. A stage will do just fine. They owe us. Shit, if it truly is Sonic's 20th, then they should celebrate in a big way and give us 4 stages from every major classic(2D and 3D) Sonic game and call it a game. I shit you not. I am being so serious, right now. If the premise is to have Sonic travel through the big four, then put all those bitches in the game.

That would either need to be a PS3 exclusive or on multiple disks for the 360. Seriously, I'm sure you've seen how HUGE a level Green Hill is already. Imagine having 12 classic stages, plus 5-6 Dreamcast stages and potentially even a couple modern stages? That would be about 20 levels, and an enormous amount of data to cram into a single game.

Maybe this is why the game isn't on the Wii, and it is going to be on multiple disks....

I think so too. I remember playing Mass Effect 2 on the 360 and it took two disks. The PS3 only had one. FF13 was the same. Why not push the envelope for the game? I think the game should have atleast 15 stages for the torment that I endured for Sonic 06, Shadow, and the werehog in Sonic Unleashed. This is the first time that the fanbase gets to relive those beloved stages in HD so why not include as much as possible or atleast make some of those stages DLC and not hardmode wankoffs.
