Release Dates and Release Editions Speculation

Seems like GameStation have the special edition up for pre-order in-store too. Doesn't look like any deposit is required or anything, so if you pre-ordered already you're most likely eligible for the extra stuff. It's listed as "Sonic Generations Exclusive Edition" on the sheet, but as GAME and GS's stock is pretty similar, it'll most likely be the same thing.

So the stuff isn't going to be a pre-order gift, but stuff you have to pay extra for via the special edition? That sucks. I hope they're mistaken. I wish SEGA would just announce the special edition and give us details already. It would be ridiculous for SEGA to give the content away free with pre-orders in the U.S. and charge for it in Europe.

So I just noticed SEGA Press has the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS versions all down for a November release, while SEGA's website only says November for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The 3DS version just says Late 2011. I'm guessing we'll be seeing the console versions early in November and the 3DS version later on in the month.

GAME also seems to think the 3DS version will have a later release. They have the console versions down for November 4th and the 3DS version down for November 25th.

The PS3 listing has been like that since the website updated with the special editions. What's really weird is that the in-store advertisement pic I posted says only the Avatar outfit is Xbox 360 exclusive, but the website's saying both the theme and Avatar outfit are Xbox 360 exclusive.

They weren't released here though. In the UK, only Argos got the figurines to give away with pre-orders (with the Wii selection of Wisps). But then they decided not to give them away and instead sell them for £15 even though the packaging said "not to be sold separately" in bold, red letters.
