Anyone out there with shameful Sonic-related secrets?

I bought Sonic 06 for 5€. Too bad I bought it for the Xbox 360 when I have a PS3.

I got it for $20 in 2007...before I even had a 360. (It was just in case I ever got one, which I did a year later when Unleashed came out.)

>.> yeah, I payed alot more for it than alot of you guys have....b-b-but- it was in a bargain bin- does that count?

._.

Ok, I'll be in the corner...

Okay I have some big confessions to make. This is my opinion

  • To me....ShTH>Colours. It's not that I hate colours but Colours bored me very quickly and seems a little overrated
  • I hate Shadow's new voice actor
  • I <3 choatix as well

Please don't judge me

I got Sonic 2006 and Unleashed HD on the same day. I completely ignored Unleashed after the first day because I was having much more fun with 2006.

I'm a regular at the Sega Forums.

I have to say I can't stop going back if only for reading the massive amount of idiotic posts I see daily. It's almost like a comedy. A very frustrating comedy.

I had a crush on Amy and rouge as a child. Ugh.

Same with Amy, although the first time I saw Rouge in Sonic X, I literally thought that she was a 30-40 year-old bat girl! O_O

Also I was one of the possibly many people that defended 06 when it came out. Then I bought it for myself and played it. You can pretty guess what happens from there....

Yeah.. Thankfully I wasn't all into the hype simply because I didn't have a 360 until a year later (& that I thought that Eggman's weird re-design was terrifying).

A non-shameful secret.

I consider myself one of the fans here who considers Sonic 3's physics to be absolutely TERRIBLE. It's full of glitches and horrible collision detection. I've bumped into more glitches in S3 than any other Sonic game combined. (Yes, even Sonic Adventure, Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog have better physics and are better polished overall.) Yes, Sonic 4: Episode 1's physics are way, way better due to the better polish. Honestly, between Sonic 4 and Sonic 3, I'll choose S4's physics any day of the week because they're actually GOOD. Sonic 3's physics can go DIAF.

I haven't played Next-Gen, though.

:P

While im not normally one to be moved to tears by anything Sonic related, i have to confess that this short fan-made "AMV" did get me to do a little "baaaawww"-ing. Just a little though, i swear!

I wasn't sure where else to post this as it does not merit its own topic, but for comical purposes, I would like to state a little discovery I found yesterday. It seems Sonic Hedgehog is biologically inside each and every one of us. Don't believe me? Check out the link below! There's even possibly a little bit of Knuckles hinted at in there as well. ProTip: Unless you're a doctor or have some sort of medical science degree, you're better off just skipping down the the "Discovery" section of the article.

Proof that Sonic lives in all of us

I stumbled upon the "Sonic Hedgehog Protein" when doing some research on Multiple Sclerosis, which I have. Now I know Wikipedia doesn't have the brightest reputation for getting all its facts straight, but here is how the hedgehog protein affects MS (though even I don't really understand it. You're better off reading it if you know medical jargon). It's a long page, so just hit Ctrl+F and search for "sonic".

^ Um yeah, interesting but unreleated to the topic. Sorry to burst your bubble. :/

Anyways, bump. I too found Shadow the Hedgehog fun to play. Guilty pleasure game. Multiplayer was kinda fun. It helps that I have played my share of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (although it was mostly for just messing around with cheats and driving around the city/highways :P).

Also did a bit of strong defending for Sonic 4: Episode 1 when it was first announced (the type when you accuse of people of just whining over anything, no matter how legit the complaints are or how much sense the complaints are.) -_-

I had a dream with Sonic and Big Bird buying clothes from a boutique owned by Kurt Hummel from Glee.

I haven't had Cheerios before bed since.

Oh man, I need to stop visiting this topic, because then I remember an "embarrasing" secret I have, and then I bump this thread and post it (weeeeeell that and I like reading you guy's secrets XP)

- For quite a long time, I didn't know how to access the Last Story in Sonic Heroes. Then again, it was hidden off-screen in the team selection.

- Aside from defending Episode I as mentioned above, I also did initially enjoy it. I think I was really caught up in the hype at that time.

- If it counts, I used to like Sonic X (4Kids dub). I remember getting hyped up by the theme and almost tuning in towards each episode every Saturday it was airing in my area. I kinda found it funny that I didn't think that maybe the show wasn't oh-so-great when I started watching it less.

- As much as I currently loathe Chao....last time I played SA2B I had around 14 of the critters (some bred by Chao, most I believe by buying eggs at the black market). I also thought at first the animals at first were the Chao, and didn't think that the egg in the Chao Garden might had contained a Chao in it (I honestly don't know why I came to that conclusion).

- I like Knuckles' Chaotix; I dunno, I just found it fun to play. Personally this along with Sonic Megamix and Generations HD I can see this as a worthy Sonic 4 for some reason.

I might post some more later...unless I've bumped this topic back into relevance waaaaay too much.

Interesting topic o_o

I had the imaginary Sonic and Tails that ran beside me while on road trips xD Dodging stuff and the like.

For whatever reason, when I got the Sonic classics for PS2, I could not get past the Labyrinth Zone, even though, I clearly remember beating it when I was 7, how in the world did I do that back then, but I couldn't seem to pass it this time??? (I got better hehe) and I also forgot about the barrel of doom. It was another "I KNOW i've past this before, jumping is not workkinggggggg fuuuuu"

I love reading fanfiction, and I'm guilty for some not so great fancharacters in the past (still make em now but I'd like to think they're not so mary-suish)

I had no idea what "Miles" was when I saw the name in the Casino Night Zone when I was little, eventually I found out it was Tails name and thought it was the weirdest name ever.... then I started hearing it on tv/movies etc. and now I want to name my future child Miles >_>

And I only consider it shameful, because I don't want people to associate it with Sonic Fandom, because...I'm kind of ashamed of being Sonic obsessed (kind of as in, I'm getting better, although I'm still embarrassed of getting comics- no one's in the aisle? quick go grab the new SU copy!...I don't own any plushies, only ever had a poster of Sonic 2 that came with the game, I'm too embarrassed to wear T-shirts (It's worse now that the only person who I've seen wearing one is the scooter [not the motorized type] girl at my campus with mix matching rainbow socks, and anime-esque outfit with tiny skirts over capris and wears a tiny top hat on her head, different kinds of them...) The most I'd ever get, and I'm still looking for it, is a tiny cute classic Sonic phone charm or keychain, I thought I'd find one at a Sega arcade when I was in Okinawa, somewhere hidden in those claw games, but nope *sadface*

I love Marble Zone, Scrap Brain Zone and Wacky Workbench because they are platforming dreams, especially WW. Also Labyrinth Zone is my favorite level out of all the 2D games. Oh and I got all emblems on SADX to unlock Metal Sonic. Last but not least, I have never beaten the first boss in Sonic 2 game gear version.

ARE YOU ME?

Alright, it;s time to amaze all of you.

-Making a Unique Sonic card game that i want to pitch to maybe make it an actual thing.(I'm 26 and I know how cliche' that may sound)

-wants nothing more than to be able to meet the creators of Sonic.

-Sonic was the main reason I never have been arrested, he was and has been the only positive influence I have had.

-I made a sonic board rpg game where the players made their own characters and then applied badniks on a cardboard 3d scale. I later on used the same premise for 2 other games while I was attending college for game design, no one was the wiser.

-I'm still upset to this day my mom did not buy me the special edition SOAP shoes of Sonic and Shadow.

-I own every issue of the archie comic series up to issue 205, including specials.

-I think Scourge the Hedgehog in the comics is the best original idea they had.

-I love the werehog and have a few concepts of a indie game which will utilize Sonic and Werehog Sonic in a black and white classic horror world. (I posted my concept idea on their pros and cons).

-I plan to have a Sonic tattoo once I decide what exactly I want it to be of.

-I may have looked up hentai of some characters

-I actually find Jaleel White's voice annoying now.

-I have tried to figure out plot holes in Sonic games since Sonic 3 going to as far as to writing long paged descriptions of my thesis ideas.

-I have also made several articles on a gaming website blog about how if Mario can do what he wants and why people are so harsh when Sonic does it.

-I like BIG THE CAT. yes, big the cat. (also an article)

-I have tried making a map of the floating island.

-I have tried making a map of the world of sonic (Unleashed confused me even further).

-I play Sonic '06 as some sort of endurance test.

-Gamma's story in Sonic Adventure is the most messed up game plot I have ever played at the time. (Robot goes nuts, "saves" his comrades by destroying them aka killing his own kind then in the end getting himself killed so he can be "rescued")

-Shadow the Hedgehog was very different, but I still liked it. The cutscenes and the music was very fitting. I also liked how he wasn't like Sonic and had no problem killing things in his way. It showed a very dark side of the Sonic universe.

- I have bought all of the jazwares figures 3 inch figures that each figure had to do with a sonic game, also have most game inspired figures and some 2 figure comic packs. all sealed.

and finally:

I do this thing with my hand where i spin it and look at it when I used to play outside being sonic because I imagined my spinning hand was sonic doing a spin attack. I still do it to this day, and i have no idea why.

I win.

I have never, in my entire time playing Sonic games, been able to beat special stages without either cheating or a shit ton of luck. Sometimes, I can't even find the damn special stages in the first place.

The only exception: Sonic Rush. The crowning example: Sonic CD.

When I play Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I'll always have every chaos emerald by Marble Garden act 1, but never bother with the super emeralds (In fact, I even go out of my way to avoid the special stage rings that you collect them via) until after I've beaten the last boss (Whether this be Doomsday Zone for Sonic or Giant Eggrobo for Tails or Mecha for Knuckles). I achieve this by spamming the first special stage ring in Mushroom hill.

I have a real hard time getting some of the Super Emeralds, especially the purply-red one, which took about Twenty five goes.

Mind you, I never even bother with the chaos emeralds at all in Sonic 1. (Can't go super in that game so what's the point? :D ) If I happen to have fifty rings at the end of a zone, I'll enter the special stage, but it's pot luck whether I get the emerald or touch a goal post, because I never really try.

I used to think all the Game Gear games (except Sonic Labyrinth) were good just because they had Sonic in them... now I know they're just dreadful. (Apart from Sonic 1, that one was OK)

On an unrelated note, I remember seeing someone's review of Sonic Labyrinth who gave it an extra point just because Sonic was the star. wacko.png Imagine someone doing that now, or in 2009. :P

I'd often spend ages trying to input Sonic 3 (alone)'s sound test code so that I could activate the sound test and listen to the game's BGM for hours... in fact I sometimes do that now, except now I do it on real hardware. Man, Sonic 3K's soundtrack is good. The fact that I love it so much is probably why I hate Project Chaos so much, because I feel that some of the tunes are butchered in the said album.

I also used to think the moving platforms in Chemical Plant had eyes. Not only that, I thought some of the palm trees in Palmtree Panic were made to look like Robotnik. In fact, I still think they are.
