Anyone out there with shameful Sonic-related secrets?

Recently, I played some of the lesser known Sonic games and one of them was... Sonic Labyrinth.

Often considered one of the worst Sonic games, I wasn't excited... but in my opinion, it functions well, it's playable, and as a standalone puzzle game, it's fine.

So, to me... Sonic Labyrinth is a good game.

I actually really enjoy Sonic Labyrinth.  Yes, as a Sonic game it's a massive disappointment, but aside from the third(?) level being insanely cryptic (wait, like, five minutes for a platform to appear to take you somewhere when there is no way of knowing that the platform was even there to begin with), it's a fairly solid game that is short enough to provide entertainment on a short car trip or something.  I feel sorry for the people that paid the full price for the game, because it was never worth that much, but it's still a fun little game that thankfully had the decency to not try to be any more than it what it ultimately is.

No offense guys, but I agree with Akito. Barely any of these are shameful anymore. The first few pages were interesting, but once you got 10 pages in, it was more about "I was never able to finish this game" or "I like one game more than the classics", and then the whole thread became a huge bore for me, so I skipped all the way here. It's getting better, but it's still mostly "I like one game even though others hate it" and stuff.

Dunno if this counts, but back when I first saw a playthrough of Sonic 06, I thought the story was great. I also kind of mighta sorta had daydreams and self inserted myself in the story...

I am past that point now, so don't bring out your pitchforks and torches please!

I agree with you compleatly Potato! Only it's my Sonic plushie that I have 'fun' with <3 <3 I like to make him happy after a long day smile.gif (I also used sewing skills to make him fun bits. That weird enough for yah? XD )

My reaction:

When I first beaten both the Dark and Hero side of Sonic Adventure 2, I was confused why I didn't activate the Final story. I realized afterwards that it's because I saved the Dark and Hero side as different files when I thought the other story would've been overwritten if I saved it with the other file.

I'm not sure I've posted in here but anyway.

  • I draw/like/collect Sonic porn/smut/doujinshi, not as much any more but in my youth...hoo boy...
  • I recently completed a doujinshi collection from a popular/internet famous adult artist that specializes in Sonic after 11 years of collecting, and 8 of those years were spent on finding ONE book from 2002.
  • Sonic Heroes is my favourite Sonic game ever, and I don't get why it's deemed so bad as I honestly don't see the arguments people try to make about it.
  • Sonic Riders is actually my second favourite game :P
  • I used to purposely try and jam the camera in the Chao garden with Rouge so I could see her boobs jiggle.
  • I've completed Sonic 06 100% with all gold medals, all silver medallions and pure S ranks across all acts and missions, how I put up with the loading times to constantly reset a stage if I missed a medallion is beyond my comprehension...
  • If I don't get a perfect run on Spagonia's Rooftop Run Act 1 in Unleashed, I legitimately rage because I feel I've perfected that level without exploiting glitches, and it's my favourite stage in a Sonic game ever.
  • In my youth I used to run and walk like Sonic's SA2 model.
  • I tried to grind a pipe down a staircase SA2 style, fell and fractured both wrists, now they permanently click whenever I rotate them *shakes fist at SA2*
  • And now a recent one... I imagined myself running in super peel-out form when walking back from work last night when no one was around, I even made the "Sssshhhshh!!" noises.

Yeeeaaah.... *rubs head and blushes in embarrassment*

Heh, I too hate getting anything less than a perfect grade from a Sonic level, '06  and Colours exempted because it's scoring system that relies primarily on rings/Wisp-spamming beyond the point of usefulness is bullshit (I don't use the red gem :<). I'm a Sonic game completionist to the extreme and anything lower than S/Gold/5 stars is unacceptable to me.

Since we're on the subject of sonic riders, I just need to say fuck yeah Sonic Riders. I 100%ed that game completely and I enjoyed EVERY SECOND. It's not my favorite and it's actually probably pretty bad but it's FUN.

Zero Gravity sucked all the fun out of the original game but I still enjoyed it a bit. Just not enough to fully complete it or even play every mode to death like the original.

Free Riders can fuck riiiiight off.

Some of the Gold Medals in the first Sonic Riders made me legitimately RAGE and that's saying something.

I still have bad memories of the 'perfect trick' mission in Dark Desert ph34r.png

The only mission that comes to mind for me was the perfect grind challenge in Babylon Garden's with Sonic, that made me rage.

Even though I've played it a HELL of a lot over the past 6 years and 100%'d everything, I still can't consistently S rank some of the bosses in Sonic Rush Adventure as one mistake means you've fucked it up. Whisker and Johnny and Deep Core are nightmares in this regard.

Still my favourite Dimps game by a mile though.

I'm also anal about S ranks, even in Generations, if I die or, in some levels, even take a hit (most likely in Crisis City due to being the most challenging level), I restart.

Still, I say without any second thoughts whatsoever that SatSR's all 110 gold medals was the most hardcore Sonic challenge I ever took on. And I won :D Dinosaur Jungle's perfect mission i.e Don't get hit made me throw my Wii Remote across the room and that's actually shameful in retrospect 'cos I'm usually very even-tempered.

I love Sonic Riders the same way I sort of like Sonic Labyrinth.  As a game, it's good, as a Sonic game, it's sort of lackluster.  It's also one of those games that really don't entertain me unless I'm playing it with another person. :V - Still, it's a game that has the potential to be great fun and had they not ruined it more and more with every iteration to follow (I still think Zero Gravity is close enough to the original to be enjoyed, but not quite up to par with the first), then it could have been a great series overall.

I'm not entirely sure if this is shameful, but for the past couple months I've been obsessing over SatBK, apparently for no specific reason.

...And I've never played it. I don't even have a Wii. I guess I just love the environments. And the music. And the art. And Caliburn.

Because of this, I also started to appreciate the Pokemon Escavalier more. and you should have seen how excited i was when honedge was revealed.

I guess I consider it shameful because I've never played it and the obsession came out of nowhere.

I liked Shadow the Hedgehog. Loved it, in fact. The voices were awesome (especially Shadow's and Sonic's), the graphics were pretty cool at the time and I swear to god, Shadow seems so much more mature (inb4 guns&angst, I mean the cutscenes, like the one after beating Westopolis as neutral). Even SatSR was pretty epic to me.

I thought it was a great game too, but honestly, I'm not really ashamed of thinking so.

I sometimes get off to official artwork of Sonic.
Well this is a change. And here I was thinking that we might as well rename this to "Sonic games you love that others hate".

Whenever I play a 3D Sonic game, I spend 90% of my time exploring the stages. It's not shameful, but I get pretty bad scores from doing so.

I find myself doing this a lot in SA1 and Generations. It feels so beautiful to not be trapped in a hallway and be able to break loose and run around, exploring everywhere unlike a certain little Unleashed and Colours.

And a really shameful thing of mine... My Amy obsession is getting worse. ;~;

Eh, I managed to spend over 20 minutes in Sweet Mountain Act 1 the other day exploring and glitch hunting. It's pretty fun.

Hm, where to start? I still love Sonic X to this day, and I didn't think Chris was all that bad. At least not as bad as some other characters.... like Elise or Big.

Also, I used to be a major Shadow fangirl, and a supporter of ShadowXMaria. And while I'm not really into them as a pairing anymore (Maria's supposed to be 12, after all), I still think the whole beastiality-argument is bull.

Oh, and I love the sountrack of Lost Impact in Shadow the Hedgehog so much, I sometimes stopped playing in the middle of the level, just so I could listen to the backgroundmusic while drawing.

I will stand by my fact opinion when I say this:

I think 06 is more fun than Shadow the Hedgehog. I also think it has a better story as well even though that isn't saying much.(And the Music is better)(And the graphics look much better) Also no "Damn not here"

Speaking of 06, I got a D-Rank on the Find the Captain mission.
