Crap, I keep forgetting that. I did skip out on a few pages so didn't actually see the confirmation, just snippits of discussion about it here and there. :P

Well, I hope they do include CPZ in the HD versions anyway. :3

Well, Sonic 4 wouldn't really be able to do anything justice, now would it?

I disagree, it tries so hard to be like the original that it just turns out bland and dull. Hell, they even kept most of the flowers in the same spot. Now it's true that they did make it look like the original by simply extruding, but what if they had kept it 2D and just redrawn the graphics, would it still be terrible or simply a high-res' remake then?

I'm guessing they thought that since it's the first stage they would keep it as it always was, and therefore simply re-did it in 3D and kept the level geometry since normally people like that. :P

It's both reasons.

There we go!

Also, in that video, the spike-bounce glitch is gone, and as ENVY noted, Omochao is there, too.

Loving the new drift. I wonder if it's just as effective when you aren't boosting, or if you can maintain it by holding the triggers without moving the analog stick much.

If so, "L/R" to roll confirmed for 3D Sonic! I do believe several of us have asked for something like that!

You just made me wanna play that again. ;)

Sumo Digital really did an awesome job recreating the stages of sonic heroes. Can't wait to hear about a new SEGA project from them with classic sonic included hopefully :3

I really hope we get around 18 zones for this game. I know it sounds kind of impossible looking back the track records, but I really think they should try to push it this far.

Why I picked the number 18? Well think about it. It would be 2 zones per game.

Sonic 1:----------------- 2 zones

Sonic 2:----------------- 2 zones

sonic 3k:---------------- 2 zones(1 from 3, 1 from knuckles)

Sonic adventure:--------- 2 stages

Sonic adventure 2:------- 2 stages

Sonic Heroes:------------ 2 stages

Sonic 06:---------------- 2 stages

Sonic unleashed:--------- 2 stages

Sonic colors:------------ 2 stages.

equals 18 total.

It would be an awful lot of work but one can dream though :( . I don't know, 18 just sounds perfect. The leaked list had 9, that is really nothing. Even 12 would end up giving up a lot of good stages. 2 per game would be perfect. WIth so many stages nobody would even care about unleashed and colors being there lol

hehehe. Seriously though, if they did, it would be the most fulfilling, complete sonic experience ever. Wish they would strife for that. It's not impossible. It just needs, 3 years?? :P

I'm really hoping for supported DLC of additional zones and maybe some boss battles thrown in for once a month or something, Unleashed got a fair amount of DLC, hopefully this will get the same treatment but in the form of new zones, though I wouldn't say no to extra acts instead.

I have this little theory i'd like to share with everybody.

In one of the screenshots we see the Red Rings are back and we've seen them in the vids too...in Sonic Colours we have 180 red rings.

Now if we assume that 1 zone = 2 acts(which is confirmed) = 10 red rings(5 C. Sonic+5 M. Sonic) then we can assume that we're gonna have 18 zones.

I know that this is just a theory and the red rings might be less but how you see it? Is it possible?

That craptacular list was debunked, I'm guessing we'll be seeing Sonic CD and Sonic and Knuckles appear as their own games.

But 18 zones seems like a pretty reliable guess. So far, Green Hill, City Escape, and Rooftop Run have been confirmed for the console version, with Green Hill, Launch Base, and Casino Night for the 3DS version. Only question is what's next, at this point ;) And what purpose will the red rings serve, as well? Will you unlock each Chaos Emerald after collecting a certain number of them, since it's been confirmed that special stages won't be in the console version? Or will you need a certain number of them to progress, like how the moon and sun medals were used in a Sonic Unleashed? (holy fucking flying chihuahua with tourettes, I hope not)

@Froenek, You might actually be onto something there. There were 180 Red Rings in Colors, its not unreasonable to assume there'll be 180 in Generations, and therefore 18 zones. Wow +1

You mean 36 stages, right? 5 x 18 = 60, not 180.
