I think 18 stages would easily fit... I mean look at other games with how they fit huge worlds into 1 disk.. right?

Edit: They're leaving alot of stuff out this time too. Probably no hub worlds, no werehogs, no airplane shizzle and so on. If they'd compensate well enough and put effort in good compression, I think they'd easily get 18 stages in a disk. But uhh, i'm not speaking from any experience though. I'm just comparing with other games

@Jaouad, I think it partly depends on how much space the werehog levels were taking up in Unleashed. Yes, they took a long time to complete but I don't think any of them were truly as large as a Sonic Day stage.

How about the dual-layer DVD 10G Microsoft released?

Does the 360 take Blu-ray? I though that was an advantage of the PS3 over the 360.

Or just a simple standard 50GB Blu-ray and you can fit everything and it's grandma on there.

I'll stick with 9 zones and the obligatory 10th final zone.

3 Classic, 3 Adventure, and 3 Modern. Anything more will be a pleasant surprise. :D

Well that's not a bad approach. Keep it low and if we get more stuff then we'll be very happy! :D

No dissapointment in this strategy!

Either Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles is going to get cut as well. Rage is inevitable. They need to deal, plain and simple. SEGA can't possibly please everyone.

@Tobbii: Yeah i know. If we have a Sonic CD zone will be a gift from God himself.

@Indigo Rush: I can see that happening too unfortunately. I hope ST proves me and you wrong!

@BD3: Well that could work but in all honesty i can't imagine ST making 2 discs for 360.

And you honestly think they're going to do that?

I don't think they will, but I won't rule it out completely. It's the 20th Anniversary and Modern Sonic stages are huge.

If there is ever a time to use multiple discs it's now.

How do you know what's "going to be cut or not"? Granted, I'm not saying we could be seeing a full 18 stages, we don't know how many stages will really appear in the game. But while unlikely, Sega COULD release multiple discs for the 360 version, if content can't fit for the 360 version. That, or (sadly) the PS3 version may have extra content that the 360 version can't fit. I remember the leaked press release for the at-the-time "20th anniversary game" saying that it was for the PS3, but only being considered for the 360, since it might not have room for all the content, so take that with a grain of salt.

Anyhow, I'd be really happy if the game had 12 levels. That seems pretty good-sized, no? Especially with 2 acts each, possible extra missions, hubs, etc? This would be a list that could satisfy me, and hopefully other fans based on some polls I've read, including possible boss fights:

-Green Hill (Classic Sonic vs. Original Wrecking ball boss)

-Stardust Speedway (Modern Sonic racing/fighting Metal Sonic)

-Chemical Plant (Classic Sonic vs. Original Chemical Plant boss)

-Ice Cap (I dunno what boss should go here... maybe it won't have one, like how certain stages in Unleashed didn't have bosses to save space)

-Sky Sanctuary (Classic Sonic vs. Metal Sonic, in the same style as the Mecha Sonic fight from this level)

-Emerald Coast (Modern Sonic vs. Perfect Chaos, boosting makes this battle a given)

-City Escape (Classic Sonic vs. Robotnik piloting a Big Foot-style mech)

-Casino Park (Modern Sonic vs. An Endurance round of robots)

-Crisis City (Modern Sonic vs. Iblis, in the same style as Perfect Chaos)

-Night Palace (again, dunno what should go here)

-Rooftop Run (Classic Sonic vs. Robotnik in the Egg Devil Ray

-Planet Wisp (Modern Sonic vs. Egg Nega Wisp)

-Once you complete all levels, you fight "the new foe" as both Classic and Modern Sonic

-"Doomsday", a final level unlocked after getting all the Chaos Emeralds

Now, 12 levels in and of itself is pretty large, for a Sonic game, but I see no reason why it can't be done, given all the levels and acts they fit into Sonic Unleashed. Plus, 120 red rings is still a lot to collect, no? And a list like this still adequately represents pretty much every main game, giving each era 4 levels to represent them (Ice Cap could represent both classic and dreamcast eras; in Classic Act 1, it could be made in the vein of Sonic 3's Ice Cap, but in Modern, it could be based off of Sonic Adventure's take on the level, though with some more speed-based sections thrown in), as well as the final level and hidden boss.

But in the end, it's all a shot in the dark; we'll have to wait and see just how many levels the game will have, but don't say "something has to be cut" when that's hardly the case. Remember, Trunks' list is 100%, unadulterated bullshit, based on toys that Jazware released. His guess is as good as anyone else's what the final level list will be.

That list would make me really happy, just add a final zone and its perfect for me.

I don't mean to poop on the party, but since E3 is over, shouldn't we be discussing these things in other threads? Or is this the general discussion thread now?

If I call Sega right now and tell them to remove the Rooftree in the rooftop run level, they'll do it. Because this is the burger king of Sonic games...I'm supposed to get it my way. Every last detail.

...

......

And then JezMM will cry. Because there is no Rooftree. But I'll have it my way so that's all that matters. colbert.png

If anyone takes this post seriously I won't be your friend anymoar.
