General Nintendo sales/business discussion topic (previously: The Wii U Thread)

No specific knowlege about server stress but it seems logical. If I had to pick a time, perhaps mid-December? I'd expect Christmas Day to be fully as bad as the release days because a lot of the units will only be unboxed then, if they were bought as gifts.

My Nintendo ID is Thrippa, I think. I can't find anywhere that it tells me where to find out, but if I search for that name I find me. I can change my password, Mii, and other info, but there's nowhere I can find that says 'Nintendo ID - '. It also took me a while to work out that the electronic manual is on the home menu. Nintendoland, Epic Mickey, and the Miiverse all directed me to the 'Wii U electronic manual' and I hunted through System Settings, Health and Safety, and various other areas trying to find the silly thing. Just press 'Home'.

BTW, Hulu Plus is now out.

What do you mean?

People drawing really funny images related to the games they're playing- or even stuff they're watching on Netflix. I already think I like this community.

Baroque penises everywhere, I'd guess.

I haven't seen a single dong, so nope.

Ugh, I absolutely can not stand to see people waste these consoles like that.

Just recently watch someone attempt to smash and flush their PS Vita down a toilet.

The $300-$400 could've gone to people who actually needed it.

Yay! One of the Merry Hill centre GAME's is on there. Might go try it out tomorrow. I bet a staff member will try to sell the Wii U to me and I'll feel kinda bad since I have it pre-ordered at Currys laugh.png

Haha, one of my local GAME stores is on the list. And it's getting the unit on launch day. I just might have considered going down there to try it out. But lol, no chance :P

Anyone know any good Black Friday deals concerning Wii Remotes and 3DS?

I heard Toys R Us will have Wii Motes with the nunchuck for about 10-15 bucks. Would be great for anyone looking for cheap more controllers for your Wii U XD

By the way, it's going around that NINTENDERLAND is freezing due to Miiverse, specifically if you have it set to accept messages from all languages. Apparently the game doesn't like that, and throws a fit.

"Swimming with bow legged women" was a family sitcom joke 30 years ago. I remember hearing the phrase, including the "swim between their legs" second half, being said a few times on M*A*S*H by Colonel Potter.

Who... exactly is Nintendo protecting? This is like the Phantasy Star Online auto filter that censored out the word "poop."

Yeah, Miiverse tends to be extremely strict. I also had to request getting unblocked not once, but twice for the messages I posted.

I would like to see two people on this forum who has a Wii U do a video chat on the GamePad.

It would be cool to see. =P

Miiverse isn't a very good social platform if I can't have adult conversations with my adult friends.

I had to laugh at this since it can be taken two ways.

It's pretty stupid so far. Hopefully over time they get more lenient with stuff like that, what with all the people complaining about it.

You could make a game out of it? "Just how tame can I be and still get my status locked?"

Doesn't your account get locked?

Yeah.. I'd rather keep my 350. :P

I agree. Its a brand new thing for Nintendo and people think its the end of the world. Chill guys XD it will get better as more and more complain and still do it.

My Wii U froze on two occasions playing Nintendo land. It made a loud buzzing noise and I couldn't turn it off, so I had to unplug it. I didn't know it was Miiverse related.

I posted this as a status on SSMB last night, but I got a taste at just how strict they are with the posts on Miiverse. I set my profile status as my favorite quote from Jaws, which is "Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women". Minutes later, I get a message from an admin saying my profile was blocked because my status was "inappropriate". I had to change my status and request that my profile be unblocked. Seriously? I think Miiverse is an awesome feature, but that's fucking chickenshit bullshit. How fucking anal can you get?

Other people have said similar things. It's ridiculous. It's basically for babies. It's putting me off of getting one. I'm not here for retarded consoles censored for 2-4 year olds.

However a lot of my favourite franchises are Nintendo-only, and it looks to be a console that will take over the next generation. I guess I don't really have much of a choice.

Am I the only one who doesn't care? Not like I pay much attention to Miiverse anyway.
