Tecnically, main series or not you can actually compare them. Expecially Sonic R, which was released exclusively for Sega Saturn, PC version got released one year later.

What are you comparing those to? The main series? That's fairly laughable. Are you going to compare Sonic 3 to Sonic Spinball next and see how similar they are?

The more I watch your videos in Generations HD the more I want to see Crisis city, planet wisp and seaside hill. MUST SEE TRAILER FOR THOSE LEVELS!

Edit: also does anyone think we'll see or run into the other versions of sonic in this game?(like adventure sonic, 06 long quills sonic, etc.)

Nope, it's a hack that the game wasn't made for. There are problems with it, and doing C.Sonic in M.Green Hill Zone causes a lot of problems that aren't particularly easily ironed out.

Does that mean that each time we beat a level, we'll unlock a character?

For example:

Green Hill-Tails

Chemical Plant-Knuckles

Sky Sanctuary-Amy

Speed Highway-Rouge

Crisis City-Blaze

Rooftop Run-Espio

or we maybe we're gonna free two characters at once. It could go either way but just for nostalgia and fun i want to free Amy after the Metal Sonic fight and in a cutscene hug him or chasing after him.

Just reading about everyone's thoughts on what characters we get to encounter. Made me think of Castlevania - Dracula X.

Where in each stage, you were able to save people along the way. Curious what effect both Sonic's may get from saving each friend.

Maybe it could effect the in-game story? (and not just obtaining the emeralds)
