Generations is a DLC magnet.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if SEGA held back on some of the stages, so they could be put in as DLC.

Yeah, you could call it a dick move, but I call it brilliant marketing. The selection we have here is hardly terrible, but with the prospect of getting even more fan-faves via DLC is a pretty great way of selling a product.

I am a bit afraid to say this since so many people are spamming Sky Sanctuary, but I really do like Sky Sanctuary and I hope that Jun can top his previous remix of it. Seriously, that remix will be hard to top. i actually wouldn't mind if they just used that remix.

On the levels, I just want to say this...

Are the level types varied: No.

Are the Level's gameply themselves varied: yes.

Think about it. We have Elemental shields, apparently some kind of Heroes like thing, Wisps and even possibly the Werehog. Sonic Team is really making sure each level feels like the game it represents. That is going to add a lot of variety.

For the list being 3 classic, 3 DC, and 3 modern, I'm ok with the classic ones chosen. Hydrocity is way better than Sky Sanctuary, but modern Egg Robos, and the possibility of a Super Metal Sonic battle more than make up for that.

As for the Dreamcast, the only thing they did right there was City Escape. In this case, I'd honestly have accepted Emerald Coast over Speed Highway and, well, anything over Seaside Hill. But hey, City Escape!

As for Modern, well, that whole selection is pretty lame. I'd have done Kingdom Valley, Arid Sands, and Sweet Mountain. Oh well. Planet Wisp has cool music and HECK YEAH SPIKE WISP!

Classic Era is clearly the winner here IMO.

I;m fine with all the levels chosen. i mean, Ice Cap and Lava Reef would have been cool but I really don't have anything to complain about. The levels seem like they could be really fun which is what I care about most in a video game.

I look at the list and I see some of the best and most iconic stages that could have been chosen for each of these games.

I REALLY don't pay attention to Sonic. When did he do a remix of Sky Sanctuary before this game?

I'm in agreement with the sole exceptions of Colors and 06. Kingdom Valley was definitely THE stage to pick from that game, no questions asked. Planet Wisp is an OK stage, but it's pretty weak next to Sweet Mountain and Starlight Carnival IMO.

I can actually deal with Rooftop Run since the fandom has a huge boner for that stage and I don't know why. No seriously, it's god awful. It would be entirely redeemed by Classic being in night though.

Also, the disappoinment has subsided. I'm glad that I've spoiled things, and even though I still think the level list is far less than stellar, it's not really bad. I just wish they'd chosen better stages. And future DLC perhaps? Casino Night is going to be included on the disc and simply be unlocked with a download key (as evidenced by data already existing for it) but hopefully they;ll be making other stages too. This game is perfect for it. They could keep it going for a long time.

And they put water in Seaside Hill. FUCK. YES.

You don't understand how people might be upset that the level(s) they wanted to see aren't in the HD version???

Well they can improve every stage that they remake. Look at City Escape, the Generations version is vastly superior to the original.

If you don't want to play because the levels you wanted aren't in it, then by all means don't play it. But if you're planning on pirating this, then I'll just say that is quite the dick move. Regardless of what levels they chose to put in it, the effort put into it all is undeniable.
