I suppose it isn't all that important, but I'd like 'Mega Drive' to be used outside the American version. 'Genesis' was only used in North America after all. =P

I dont know if your still talking about that Genisis thing, but I think Genisis is a boss from Sonic 06...

Um....

The Genesis is what the Mega Drive was called in America, the Megadrive/Genesis was the game console made by Sega in the early 90's, which had Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic 3D Blast. The only reason that the Egg Genesis exists is because of the success that Sonic caused for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive.

I'm curious as to why the game would have a Genesis emulator, the game is about recreating the classics afterall, not emulating them. =P

I don't know why you'd immediately assume that the Genesis graphic and the Sega Genesis graphic correspond to two different things. If it was Egg Genesis it'd say it somewhere.

That also doesn't make any sense because having an Egg Genesis boss completely contradicts the structure of the game based on what we've seen in the demo's data.

Anyone post this yet? It's pretty amusing.

So if editing the game to switch the Sonics is possible, and we speculate that the character power ups are switching characters for brief amounts of time, I wonder if you could edit the game to play solely as Tails, Knuckles, etc...

Atr you guys being Serious??? Are you joking or serious about REALLY fighting a game console as a boss? Something that started off Sonic and Created him, you'd fight or destroy it in a FIGHT?? not to mention how retarded that is, fighting a game console..

Now are you joking about fighting a console? If so, all apologes, im extremely sorry for not getting the joke, but seriously. Im getting kind of frustrated.

In terms of pregoression I'm expecting it to be somewhat like this:

The 3 Eras are avaible right the beginning(or at least you won't have to beat an entire Era to unlcok the next one), and you can start with a Zone in each of them. Completing a Classic Act unlocks the next Classic Act in the next zone in that era,same with Modern. Completing all 3 Classic Acts in an Era get's you a boss key that unlocks the boss, while completing all 3 with Modern unlocks the Key for the Rival Boss. Completing all 3 Eras unlocks Time Eater.

Why all 3 Eras are abaible at the Beginning? Because there seems to be no Final Level Build up to Planet Wisp. Each Era seems to be it's own thing.And there's no cutscene for entering an Era,only after.

About the Opening Movie, I'm assuming it's partly the Teaser Trailer.

Hey guys, don't know if someone already said it here, but rumor holds that a member at Sonic Retro spoke with a rep and the rep said that the list that were leaked were supposed to be the ones in progress and not the real list that's supposed to be in the final product.

I know people will try and eat me alive for this, but if that was the case then I'd be disappointed. I'm perfectly fine with this level list.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'd believe that because the game is coming out in less than six months anyway. This demo build can't be that old.

Are you referring to Aaron Webber? Because, when showed the leaked list, all he said was "some levels might be in, some might not be" or something along those lines, and he simply could have been referring to Bingo Highway being in place of Seaside Hill.

However, if this is something different, I wouldn't mind. I'm overall pretty happy with this list as it is, but it'd be cool (for me, at least) to see Twinkle Park represent Sonic Adventure and officially christen the Heroes level as "Ocean Palace", at least so we can get that epic music and those giant turtles. But again; that's just what I'd like to see, and I can't speak for the fan-base, so let's not try to lock horns over it.

As for level progression, I get the feeling it'll be linear. I mean, so far, it seems certain missions lead directly into another level. Which I wouldn't mind! I mean, take a look at the progression of Sonic 2 and compare it to Generations: Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant, Aquatic Ruin, Casino Night, etc. Or, remember that in Sonic 2006, Crisis City actually came before stages like Radical Train or Tropical Jungle, despite it being the fucking APOCALYPSE. So I think pretty much anything can fly.

Bosses will probably be unlocked after completing certain missions as well, considering that 2 missions per stage were revealed to be holding boss keys. How that will work is beyond me, but I really think the bosses selected are meant to represent the eras they're from, as well as possible levels that didn't make the final cut.

I think it could change. I'm not expecting a huge chance tough. Not with the 16-Bit ones, they seem set.

Also I brought this up in another Thread, but how do you guys think Angel Island will be inccoperate in Sky Sanctuary? They could do some great things with it, and the inclusion of SS would really make sense.

I think it will be organized in a way. Since they did come out and say you will only be forced to play as another Sonic for 20% of the game.

If the levels are not final I think it's safe to say Seaside Hill is still definitely the Heroes stage. Unlike the other leaked zones we have actual screenshots of it, not just title cards.

At least, I hope that it's safe to say that because it looks infinitely more interesting than even City Escape does.

I don't know if anyone made this assumption yet since I'm at the page 19 right now (A lot of catching up to do)... Somehow I'm a spoiler-proof person... No matter how much I know, I get the same joy...

Anyways my assumption is about "Holding Hands"

You know how Modern Sonic boosts like hell and no character would be able to catch up with him... So he holds the partner's hand THEN boosts. Normally they would simply teleport to you but I can't make any other use of holding hands... How's that for an idea?

Now back to catching up...

Hey guys, few things to mention. One is are we sure we won't be able to purchase extra zones or stuff that aren't cannon to the story? The information on the demo wasn't compete so I don't know. Another thing is if they include DLC for more levels it will likely IMO be these: Ice cap, Emerald coast and Kingdom Valley. I think three levels because any more I think would be to much for the disc. About the choices I made , I chooses ice cap because everyone is baffled about it not making it in so that takes care of the classic era. Adventure era is likely to have emerald coast due to it's popularity in sonic history. And Kingdom valley because well I think some people have said this best "Because Sonic unleashed and Sonic Colors are newer games. We want to see what the hedgehog engine could do for other games zones and 06 is the only other modern game up there. These stages also give more variety to the tropes. I'm fine with CD not having a level, all i wanted was a metal sonic boss in Stardust speedway and I think we will get that. If I had to pick extra levels as DLC for all the stages this would be my pick though:

Sonic 1:Starlight zone

Sonic 2:Hydrocity

Sonic 3&k:Ice cap

SA:Emerald coast/ lost world

SA2:Metal Harbor

SH:Egg fleet/frog forest/hang castle

Sonic 06:Kingdom valley

Sonic unleashed:Adabat/Dragon Road

Sonic colors:Sweet mountain/ aquatic park

Not only are these zones iconic and popular but they all bring variety in design and tropes. I think most don't have a similar trope to the official list. Off topic, you know how Sonic and the secret rings was shown as one of the big games at the e3 booth this year? Anyone else think that it will be represented by a mini-game like casino park? Sorry for the wall by the way.

Hello everyone! I just came back from Summer of Sonic! I'm not going to go tell you everything what happened like when some guy proposed to his girlfriend on stage with a Chaos Emerald ring and other epic stuff like that...but this is the Sonic Generations forum so I'll just talk about the gameplay. This was the latest build I played...it had Modern Sonic in it, I played it about 15 times and it was epic! But there was no City Escape demo...

Classic

Pros:

- It controls very, very well! Almost as smooth as silk.

- It's just plain fun!

- The powerful spindash works for Classic Sonic! These stages are huge, if you didn't have a powerful spindash you cannot make those big jumps.

- I don't know about you but the physics are wonderful!

- It looks beautiful! Smooth and Crisp!

Cons:

- The automated sections are still in, and they ain't gonna go away any time soon.

- The spindash can be spammed.

Modern

Pros:

- It controls extremely well!

- No lag whatsoever! Silky smooth 30fps.

- Sonic's moveset is balanced. Now Sonic's homing attack range has been cut down severely compared to Unleashed, the range is on par to Sonic Adventure 2. His airboost is also balanced and it's very controllable, if you hold the boost button he'll fly far and if you tap it he'll make a small dash...it's not like Unleashed where as soon as you press the boost button you'll fly all over the place.

- The Spin Dash Drift is the most intuitive move I've ever seen for Sonic! Unlike Unleashed, this drift feels right...even when boosting you can actually control it with precision! This is a move I'll abuse :P

- You change rails the same way you do in Sonic Colours (this can be a bad thing depending on your opinion). It feels much more comfortable compared to using the bumpers on your controller.

- Lots and LOTS of alternate paths to choose from!

- And of course it looks AMAZING!

Cons:

- There we're some glitches...at one time, Green Hill Zone turned into Pink Hill Zone! But I think it was the Xbox's fault since it was on for a long time.

- The rails have got no physics to it whatsoever! When Sonic is on it he just sticks to it like glue!

Well...that's all I got, but this is my opinion and you're allowed to make yours :)

Did M. Sonic control more smoothly at slow speeds than he did in Colors and Unleashed, or does that still need work? Also, could you tell if this was the same build as the demo?
