I believe there was also one that showed Modern Sonic in the classic level. Classic Sonic looks totally out of his comfort zone XD

Better version of Classic Sonic in Modern Green Hill:

r7n0av.png

Oh, and I made this myself.

All image macro posts aside, how much time and memory did the developers have to use up for enabling Sonic to walk diagonally, as well as left and right! Do they really think of everything, or will there be some sort of 3D section for Classic Sonic that will be inevitably leaked by SEGA? Because this should've been the 3D entry to Sonic that was Adventure! Well, a better version of Adventure anyway, if slightly linear.

Cue the inevitable fan reaction just in case they think of Classic Sonic in 3D as actual gameplay intended to be done without an external device as ruining Generations forever.

Granted, I'm not psychic, but ever since Crush40 made a scene with their rock music in SA1 there's been a number of people who will not except anything that doesn't have an electric guitar and bass as "Sonic Music" and that anything else doesn't fit. Not that that represents everyone, I guess some people just hate getting out of their comfort zone. Not that I expect anyone to have the same tastes I do, but rather for those who listen to one genre of music acknowledge what you said and understand that people have different tastes. I like Crush40 as much as the next Sonic fan, but when it comes to levels there are certain genres which mesh with the atmosphere better than others.

EDIT: I think I may have went off on a tangent.

I support the Werehogs jazz themes.

As well as eggman land day which wasnt rock or an guitar.

As well as all other day stages.

I liked the genisis music which was more or less pop.

And the Sonic R themes.

I think im in the safe zone for not liking classic city escape theme. :1

Wow. Reading the comments about this level selection is....depressing.

TBH, While I am a bit dissapointed with certain stages, (Y u DLC, Casino Night?!) I am satisfied for the most part.

And just imagine the sheer beauty some of these stages will bring. In beautiful HD.

I just realized something! If the 3DS version is having levels remade from the Handheld games, why can't SEGA give the 3DS version the Casino stage from Sonic Rush and give Casino Night Zone to the HD versions? But if they did that then there would be no Chemical Plant...Why couldn't SEGA pick two levels from each game??

I'm no nerd, but I think that's a bit much data for 1 disk, considering what they're already doing with it--

Eh, Sonic 3 should've had Hydrocity and Heroes BINGO Highway instead of Seaside Hill. Then we'd still have a water level and an added casino level.

I guess I know now why they chose Speed Highway..

Because of "Radical Highway". It looks extremely like Speed Highway.

Didn't notice that in the first place..

I think Speed Highway in Generations is orientated to Speed Highway but has some elements from Radical Highway.

I'm curious what twists other Stages could get. :>

But why can't SEGA use two disks for the 360? The option is there. Unless the next Xbox has a disk size equivalent to Blu-Ray, developers should really start using multiple disks.

Think about it this way. It took then 2-3 years to make just this many stages. Making any more would either require twice the manpower or twice the time. SEGA isn't as big as Activision or EA, they can't afford this kind of expansion.

It isn't too much space, it's just that Sega wants to have a mainstream Sonic game out almost every year. The reason why, frankly, is too damn obvious, money. Frankly, I'd like it if Sonic Team spent another year to develop more stages for the game, but I don't think that's really possible, considering 8 stages is as much as they make for every game.

I don't see it as a resistance to change than it is a narrow field of taste and a bit of intolerance to others. With an example from me (spoiler tagged to save space):

This is one of my favorites.

This on the other hand, I don't particularly like.

I agree if all the music were rock in sonic generations i would be dissapointed.Isn't sonic all about the different genres? Like Color's brilliant use of music such as planet wisp's somber piano line to represent eggman's decimation of the ecosystem and terminal velocity's use of fast paced guitars that tells you "you almost won!" I would like a techno or rock version of chemical plant, an orchestral bombing for sky sanctuary and fast paced violins for spagonia but these are my prefrences and if sonic team decides to do something different than so be it.

Don't be selfish, the 3DS version has fans too

I think the classic remix of 'Escape from the city' won't sound so terrible during gameplay. In any case I like it better than the original.

But I'm worried about the modern remixes. I don't like that blend of orchestra and electric guitars that's so popular in gaming now... It's so childish. Why not mix some Hideki Naganuma and rock instead? Or a bit of techno? SatSR had such awesome music! Sonic 06 had it too, and most of it wasn't rock! And the Rushes! ShtH! Where did their composers go?

*drama*

You know, that's what confuses me:

If the 3DS version Level Selection is based on the Portable Sonic games, why is Casino Night going to be in the game?

Not that I mind, of course. It's just a bit strange, considering Sonic 2 obviously isn't portable. I guess it's partially fan service or something?

They aren't using gamegear games sadly, so they're using the classic games in it as well, along with the advance games, rushes, and colors DS

Ah, now I get it. Yeah, I knew about the Game Gear part, though. I haven't been following the 3DS version much, as I won't be getting a 3DS any soon.

Wow, but that's just going to be plain awkward. But totally expected; not everyone played the Game Gear/MS versions of Sonic 1, 2, and Sonic Triple Trouble. |:

I know, but hopefully Fang will turn out to be a rival to at least reference Triple Trouble

Cause the quality of a game is equal to how much space it takes on a disk? Disk space is not a critical problem with most games, and I don't expect Sonic Generations to be one of those games that'll have disk space complications. The only reason your "favorite stage" isn't in the game is because of manpower and/or time constraints.

Is this a genuine rip from the game or just a clean post of the Sonic Boom live performance? I heard at Retro the music for City Escape was missing from the demo. I don't mind the Endless Mine mix, or the more techno influence, but this particular version is a little too peppy for my tastes. If it makes the final version I won't be up in arms but I always thought this was a slightly different mix for Sonic Boom, exclusively.

Im not real sure, I just found it.

Wait, so just asking but are these ALL the stages the game will have or will you be able to say buy bonus stages after the game is complete? I know dlc is a no brainer but bonus content could be stages to. remember the demo wasn't giving out ALL the info. Most but not all. Also secret rings level as a mini-game in generations, who's with me?
