Fastest Feeling Sonic Game?

Unleashed definitely. Sonic was pretty damn fast in generations but nowhere near as quick as he was in unleashed.

For raw speed? Sonic Unleashed 360. Almost too fast at times, and made it quite a challenge to get perfect runs. Sonic Generations "feels" faster to me because you are not constantly going fast, so when you do go Unleashed-fast, it "felt" like it was faster.

Oh, and old topic is OLD.

Sonic Unleashed feels faster than any other Sonic game on the market.

Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to the individual however.

You can go at Unleashed speed in Generations if you use the quick start skill.

But I agree Unleashed wins as the game with the greatest sensation of speed throughout the whole experience, except for the night-time stages xD

I forgot to mention, if you boost down the curved rail in Sky Sanctuary when you launch off it you go INSANELY fast, try it if you haven't already!

In terms of level design, how large the levels had to be, and the way the levels flowed without having to stop as often, I'd say Unleashed, especially in Rooftop Run, Dragon Road, Cool Edge, and Jungle Joyride.

inb4 "lololol boost2win with a few button presses"

Really don't care anymore. Generations has the better platforming, but as for the topic at hand, Unleashed wins this catagory for me.

For me, the fastest feeling Sonic game would have to be Sonic Unleashed HD without question. It's a fun game, but after playing Sonic Colours and Generations I tend to find it a bit TOO easy/linear in comparison nowadays, but by no means a bad game. Admittedly the only level I ever really replayed was Spagonia's Rooftop Run, and that got an improved remake in Generations. (Well, improved in my opinion anyway)

I definitely have to say Advance 2, for the fastest-feeling 2D game. There were times, like in Hot Crater, where I was moving too fast for the damn camera to keep up. If that isn't indicator of speed, I don't know what is. You also achieved full speed very quickly and needed very few rings to do so (IIRC, the time to achieve full speed, or when it looks like there are afterimages behind the character, is shortened as the amount of rings you have rises).

Unleashed HD is the fastest 3D game, to me. Gotta love that boost.

Sonic Unleashed hands down, in this game you could speeds of 500-999 MPH, provided that you got all of the speed upgrades. In generations you could only hit about 200-300 MPH, so to the more skilled or coordinated player you still seem pretty fast but it can get a little disappointing, a little easy, and maybe a little boring after awhile.

I think the Storybook games delivered a good sensation of speed. You did need to unlock the Wind Crest in order to go at ridiculous speeds though but I think it really was worth it. I'm not sure if Sonic actually runs faster than he does in Unleashed but since the camera is a lot closer to Sonic, it certainly seems that way.

I'd have to say Sonic Unleashed (HD) is definitely the fastest feeling 3D Sonic game, it was fun and thrilling, the boost was exhilrating, it comes first and I think Sonic Generations comes second. I also think SATBK had a good sense of speed even though it's not be as fast as the other two games. SA2 can also get fast paced at times too and as for 2D games definitely the Rush games, they were very fast and parts of Sonic 2 were also fast too.

Unleashed HD thanks to Boost to win being a higher priority in that game than anything else...

Honorable mention to Advance 2. That really does feel fast, even without help from boost, even the bosses lol

Unleashed looks the fastest but it's quite numb. There's no connection. There hasn't really been one that I could really feel in quite a while.

i personally felt Heroes could be pretty nippy when it wanted to, but i'm going to have to say Black Knight ans Secret Rings was the fastest game's i've ever played, granted you need to put the time in and unlock the top speed upgrades first!

This is a question I never really think about. I don't really know which Sonic game felt the fastest. Whenever I did think of this question, Sonic Heroes seems to pop in my head the most. I don't know why, but the game is fast paced in everything. Music is fast paced, gameplay, while messy, is fast paced, story and VA's are fast paced (don't ask me why ^^), and just the game in general is fast paced. One minute, you're in Seaside Hill, and the next, you're at Casino Park or some place. It really took 3 days to get from Seaside Hill to Bullet Station? How? It seemed like it took like 15 minutes to get through Seaside Hill/Ocean Palace, and what happened, did they take a break? Oh well, but that's the best way I can answer this question. ^_^;

Sonic Labyrinth. Sonic's running around the world at such an incredible rate that it looks like he's moving very slowly.

Fastest Sonic game, you say? Sonic 06. Sonic was so fast in that game you could barely control him in the mach speed sections!

The fastest 3d Sonic game for me is Unleashed. Those modern Sonic 3d & 2d stages were insanely fast.

I'd say Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Gen. Like that one guy said, the boost button is amazing in that game (Sonic Unleashed) but in Sonic Gen, if you watch some of the videos on YouTube of people going at it real hard, it just goes by SO fast.

A tie between Sonic Unleashed and Sonic and the Secret Rings, that latter of which was basically a prototype of the former.
