Released some time after it's Mega Drive counterpart, Sonic Spinball arrived on Sega fans' Master Systems and Game Gears during '94 and '95. Everything is in pretty much the same style as the 16-bit console versions... but... hmmm... well.
There are a few differences that make this game different from other versions of the game, and these are explained here, along with a verdict. The story is essentially the same as the MD/Genesis game - Dr. Robotnik hatches a new plan to take over Mobius, and erects (ha ha) a massive fortress on Mt. Mobius.
Being cheeky gits, Sonic & Tails attempt to stop him. All goes wrong though, when the Tornado biffs up, and Sonic is all on his own to defeat Egg-head™...
Tips & Cheats
No Gravity: Wanna float? Yesch. Then at the Title Screen enter the Options Menu, and select the "SFX" option. Once there, play tunes 00, 09, 00, 01, 06, 08 in that order. You'll see the screen shake, but Godzilla hasn't returned - it's just confirming the correct code entry. To enable space-like gravity, simply press 1 + 2 + Start during play.
Boss-a-Nova: To be able to skip right to the end-of-level boss from the off, get the Options Menu and enter the "SFX" option. When you enter, play tunes 00, 02, 01, 05, 06, 06 in that order. You'll witness the screen shake as if Eggman just sat down. During play press 1 + 2 + Start to enable the code.
'Sonic-zilla': Enter the options menu and get into the "SFX" option. Play tunes 00, 02, 01, 01, 06, 06 in order. Screen milk-shakes, and it's party time!
Super-Fast Music: Want super-fast music during the game? Then enter the Options Menu and get into the "SFX" option. Play tunes 00, 04, 02, 05, 05 and 07 in order. Robotnik should fart, and that'll mean you done the cheat right. To make the cheat active, press 1 + 2 + Start during play.
